Hey can you reuse your flywheel bolts or should I see if I can get new ones? Oh and by the way I was looking on MSA's site and I noticed that they sell two different oil pumps. One for automatic turbo and one for manual turbo? What is the difference? The auto one is retarded expensive.

i dont know of any difference. and as for the flywheel bolts. they are torqued to a large amount, the way the pressure is put on them, i would not worry about them, i doubt they would stretch lol. just re-use them if they are in good condition (not rusted)

as for me, i just had a pretty great night tonight, me and a good friend had some ladies over who one with her twin turnse 21 tomorrow, means i have a great night setup for tomorrow as well. YAY!!!!

the auto pumps are high PRESSURE, but you can get a turbo auto oil pump from autozone.

I really doubt any difference between an auto & manual turbo oil pump... you could always call MSA & ask why they are priced differently. My turbo donor for the S30 was an auto, so I guess we'll see if there is any pressure diff. Like Snw said, flywheel bolts can be re-used.

Speaking of which... Snw!!! Pics of twins or GTFO!!!!

The only thing I could possibly see would be slightly higher pressure do to the auto's having an oil cooler?

Oh yeah, I'm gonna do a new oil pan gasket while I'm at it. I saw on rockauto the gasket is about $7 for either felpro or beck/arnley. Are either of these rubber, or does it not matter?

Alright here's what MSA told me when I called them. They said that there is no difference, the only reason they have it listed online is so people can choose based exactly on their car. I didn't ask about why it was more expensive though, but I think they already explained that.

$223.95 vs. $69.95...

The center console out of my 280Z has 2 small cracks. One by the ashtray and one up where the radio mounts. I was debating buying a new one then it occurred to me that I'm probably going to cut this one up some to fit a headunit and maybe see if I can someway mount my Boost Controller where the ashtray was. So I used some gorilla glue on the one crack near the ashtray. I've got it clamped and sitting right now. I was wondering if there's some sort of bondo or some type of filler I could just sort of put over it then sand down to hide/fill the crack. I'm going to spray the whole center console as it is a little beat from use...

Get some urethane glue from an auto body supply shop. When I was rebuilding my 318ti, I needs to fix some cracks in the urethane front bumper & used that stuff. It would work great for plastic cracks.

I think I still have the tubes in my garage. I'll check this weekend on what it's really called. I think it's from 3M.

Thanks Nismo. I'll look into that.

I would like to have a flawless center console, but then I couldn't bring myself to cut it for a headunit or some of the other ideas I'm thinking.

So I got yet another Z31 ECU today. A while back I bought an 87' Z31 Non-turbo ECU to put Nistune into so I could go back to using the larger Zirconia O2 sensor. Especially since there's already a bung for it in the 2.5" Downpipe I bought from MSA. Anyway I got that and opened it up to find what looked like the ECU had a good section of it burned up at some point? So I went ahead and got another ECU this time an 89' Z31 N/A ECU. So this one looks good, and I'll have to go get my Nistune board installed a little later.

Anyway while thinking about it I decided to e-mail Matt from Nistune. I asked about the ECUs and how I've always heard that the 88-89 ECUs are more advanced and have 16-bit processors. I was told that this is not the case. The only reason the 88-89 were considered better was due to the fact that JimWolf Technologies didn't know how to make the Cobra MAF work with the earlier ECU. The Nistune guys worked with it and figured it out. He says that all the Z31 ECUs are the same as far as processor goes, they're just all slightly different to mod with the 88-89s being the easiest.

Moving to a different state sucks...having a felony background makes finding work a pain in the ***. Did you all know that if you are convicted of a dishonest crime, by law you must get permission to work anywhere in the USA if the job even remotely has to do with insurance? However, I have the job, I just have to wait for that paperwork...can you say 280ZX here I come!!!

Yeah, from what Matt said they're all the same. I opened up my 89' Z31 ECU and it had the same 6802 processor that my 84 and 86 ECUs have. I know the problem with the early 84 and 85 ECUs is simply that they have more than one ROM chip and there have to be jumpers added, but overall the only difference is the fuel maps, and the slightly different diagnostics.

Yes, I moved. The house I was living in with my mom got foreclosed on cause my moms *** of a boyfriend, the guy she works for and who owns the house didn't pay his part of the mortgage on it for 3 months. So now I am back in Ga. I will be starting work on June 22 at a place called Express Scripts. It's a call center for customers to call in their prescriptions to have them filled or renewed. It will pay very well and they said the job is mine, once the paper work gets here.

I am thinking 240z, 280zxt or a mid 90's 300zxtt....and also the 650R Ninja,.
