im thinking about new seats but not sure what kind and i just liked how the z32 seats felt. so what did you eat yesterday hoov?

 

nothing, still havent had anything to eat. and if those stock seats are still good i would just keep them, they where nice. (plus that z31 isnt much of a racer)

i've been thinking of a new style of intercooler a simple bolt on to the tb.

 

doesnt work, you get heat soak, look at a subaru.

 

ok what is heat soak? isn't that when the turbo gives off hot boost and then that is then pushed into the intake manifold?

 

that happens no matter what you do, but its when the intercooler gets so hot, that it doesnt cool the incoming charge.

 

im thinking about something simple but effective but probably costly and dangerous

 

you know the z31 cools well stock---better than modified---i kno wi havwe had 3----the one didnt cool well enough is the one was messed with---i removed the mods and presto----magnificent the way they work soooo well whenya leave themj rock stock--and the only opne could get z31s running well in races was bob sharp for pln-----pauls always ran well until they blew up----but he had bob sharp to repair it so was ok....you dono thave the time nor inclination nor money of bobn sharp racing, so leave it stock and donot mess with it--it will run best that way---remember, it IS a z31, after all......

 

i know but my new type of intercooler would be super universal and easy to install. and would make me millionare!!!

 

there is no new type of intercooler, you can barely do the basics of automotive repair, let alone understand the science behind how a forced induction system works.

Just saying you need to take the big picture into effect.
There have been a lot of people out there working on ideas to make cars faster, stronger, and more efficient for a long time.
They did it armed with knowledge and experience.
You too can have that if you go out and read up.
Not saying you don't have a good idea. But, something tells me you might have missed something when you talk about intercoolers, and do not know what heat soak is.

Do some research, make sure other people have not made the same.

Even a great idea can fail if it was not yours, and you missed the race to the patent office.

 

i know but even if it has already been patented i can still make my own for personal use. and it was just an idea that i may or may not experiment with depending on how dangerous it is.

 

Go for it. Take pictures, and try not to lose a limb.

 

i will be very careful trust me i could seroiusly lose a few falangies if i make any errors. and i'll take pics as soon as i test it.
