A new Italian in the family....

Well ever since I sold my 1098, I've been thinking about getting another V-twin sportbike for a second bike.....but I didn't want to fork out the $$$ for a 1098/1198/848. So I settled for this:

A 1996 Ducati 916, with full Termignoni exhaust, and only 12,000 miles. A modern classic!

Just trying to find the right "combination".

Just noticed I have a vehicle from each of the last five decades. That was a total accident!

Thanks Skully!

I couldn't afford these bikes back in the day, but now they're very affordable. You can pick-up a decent 916 or 996 for less than half the price of a new 848.

Lol, I saw one of those at the track a few years back go up in flames when a few wires shorted out and caused the rider to lowside it.

I don't have anything against the Jap bikes, just wanted to give Hoov and snw some crap. I've owned several Suzukis and Yamahas and they've all been great bikes. My '04 R1 could even holds its own looks-wise to the Italians. Jap bikes are definitely the best bang for the buck.

An Aprilia RSV4 would be nice! Heres a pic of the MV:

Thanks!

Yeah the MV Agusta F4 was actually designed by the same guy that designed the 916 (Massimo Tamburini). I can see the resemblence......

wanna trade one of them for my 04 CBR 1000rr? it's getting 06-07 plastics, has a micron slip-on and mid pipe, 12k miles, getting fresh paint since the donor plastics I got were rashed up. It'll be a hot bike in a few weeks. And honda's are bullet proof. You know you want it.... lol.

A Honda? I thought you were a Kawasaki guy.

Seriously, the 1000RRs are great bikes. If it had the Repsol colors (coolest paint scheme ever), you might be on to something!

The best of both worlds. Honda reliability, and a big honkin' V twin.

Nice man. My first bike was a Ducati. They suck to work on though, but I love the sound of the V...

Nice RC!!!!!

I currently have a Duc, but I've never owned a 4-valve Duc. Both of the ones I've owned are 2-valve. I do all my maintenance on them and think they're easy to work on. Probably because they're 2-valve.
