new filler
i finally started to care about my car's cosmetics when i realized that i'd have it for a while so i decided to fill the hole where the center speaker used to be. i didn't want anything that stood out to much like the wood that i was planning, and i didn't want it to look cheap like plastic. so i got this made by a local artist friend for $20. like i've said before, i like to represent car's heritages!
it looks dull because it's a stick on that has its covering on. and it's not to actual specs, but it's ok. i kinda wanted some more rays, but whatever. anyway, i'm putting some carbon fiber matte onto plywood and then rubbing this decal onto that. then spraying clear coat. i'm very exited about it. it's a pretty dark red so it should go pretty well. i'll post more pics when i finish. i'm waiting on the carbon fiber now though.

never said i didn't like your idea. just that i would really miss my dash pocket if it went away.

i got my carbon fiber today. it's a pretty cool little bit. it already has a shiny surface on it, like an over-head transparency sheet, and it's still just cloth on the back. so i can rub the decal onto it and clear coat it! i also made my backing today so i can probably get a picture of it put together and in the car tomorrow.
