licence plate law

http://phoenix.about.com/od/car/qt/platelaw.htm

what do you guys think just a way to make more money?
i think this is bs and very dumb my plate is legal and mine was ok but i still think it is dumb.
all this does is make it easier for the scamras to get you for speeding.

THIS IS OFF SUBJECT BUT.... i did see a couple motorcycle guys getting out of speeding tickets by doing wheelies as they passed so their plates face down lol

I think it's great! I hate all those dumb novelty plate frames people stick on their cars (minus the Datsun ones).

There's no way around that unless you cover the plate completely, or remove the plate.... either of those ways will get you busted anyway.

i dont blame em, it seems over the years there seems to be more and more frame and less plate showing.

i've noticed some are so bad they cover the tags

Of course it is a way to make money. To me..that is all that photo radar crap is also. Putting money in the pockets of the douche bags that created them. With all the cameras out there. I feel like I am in a prison or whatever. And someone is always watching my every move. What next? Are they going to hold my hand when I use the restroom? Friggin' ridiclulous if you ask me. I have a reflector cover on my car. So the camera can't get my plate. And it is clearly visible. And is not obscured at all. Besides....if I got a ticket. I would flat out ignore it anyway. Screw those friggin' cameras. Those are a crock of crap.

I "covered" the portion above and below the license plate letters on my 350Z but only on the front plate. I figured it is not looked at as much as we only require tabs on the rear plate.

Its so the automated plate readers they have on cop cars now can read the plate more effectively, not for photoradar...

But watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGPt-AzyTcg

i have an idea in the design process of building an actuator to slide a different plate in front of yours. or to slide your out of sight behind the bumper

i have my plate directly in front of the rear fender, if it weren't for the turn signals and license plate light you wouldnt even be able to know it was there.

Off topic, yet sort of on topic...

About 3 months after I picked up my Z from So-Cal I got a letter in the mail with a picture of a licence plate from the Golden Gate traffic authority (or whatever they call themselves) showing that I had driven accross some toll lane on the Golden Gate bridge. There was a cover on the plate and it covered up the bottom on the I's and it made them look like T's so I got the notice to pay.

I called up their 1-800 number and asked them if they could tell me how fast I was going to get from the Golden Gate Bridge to Salt Lake City in time for work that morning...

its fallen over and it pushed one of the cans in, but i straitened it back out, did the center of the tail look pushed to the left? might also be the angle the bike was sitting at also.
