My Z gets me lots of dates! It's kinda funny, but I love it!
I have a question, why do some call it Zed?

Oh man... here we go again! Here's the deal... The Europeans / Australians supposedly say their letter Z as "ZED." So they call it a 280ZED. Doesn't make sense to me since they don't say B as BED or D as DED or E as ED etc... anyway, there's huge threads around here somewhere debating the whole ZED thing.

hi, z lis--nice ta meetcha--zed is used to differentiate from letter C in communication in military and other uses--also the canucks and ausies and kiwis and brits, et alii, use it out of some perverse sort of habit--just to confuse the colonists of n. america for reasons of their own.

It's a British English thing. American English is "zee", British English is "zed". Like gas vs. petrol, elevator vs. lift, french fry vs. chip. Although the zee/zed difference is pretty old, about American Revolution era.

Sorry, couldn't help it, my wife's a linguist. I'm just glad no one calls it "izzard" anymore. That'd just be too weird.

I liked your note about the z vs. c distinction in the NATO/military alphabet. All the "ee" endings for letters makes the alphabet song work great, but it's hell trying to spell anything over a radio or phone if you don't go the alpha-bravo-charlie route. "Izzard" was an English regional dialect pronunciation of zee/zed, a long time ago. It was thankfully stomped out. Apparently, Webster particularly didn't like it. Oh, and... threadjack!

Well I missed work today...car would not start, just kept cranking and cranking, plenty of gas in the tank so I had to get under the hood. Accel super Coil + cheap thin coil wire = burnt wire!!! I found a coil wire from my 1992 Camaro from a tune up and put it on and it turned right over. Missing work is gonna cause me some problems today I am sure, I am working with my girlfriends dad...that's just asking for trouble. I have other, better work lined up so I will be making a break in the next couple of days from her dad. Everything that goes on at work gets back to her and we had a pretty good fight a few days ago over dumb stuff, I don't need to be near family problems and get sucked into them when I can just work somewhere else.

She finally found her a house yesterday to move into, I guess her mom is going to live with her for a few months then she wants me to move in...I told her I think it would be better if I got my own place for a while. One of the things that pisses me off is when people hang up on me or walk away from me or drive off without letting me speak...you know the "I have to have the last word" thing that some chicks do and leave you hanging when YOU still have things to say, it is childish and stupid. Well she did that to me over and over because we had a miscommunication about something...money, but she tried to type it to me on the messenger. I need periods, commas, and words to be spelled correctly or close to it to understand it, she thinks I was being stuborn. We almost broke up because she would not let me speak...so I made her listen.

What a stessfull day that was but I spoke with my friend in Ga who makes me keep it real and makes me look at things from another view and he was 100% correct. One of the things she kept telling me is that I need my money for me so I can have the things I need, I agree, but she has been taking me out to lunch and dinner for almost two weeks. She is working two jobs so she can get her life straight, find a place to live and some other personal family stuff. Well she would get mad...before the big fight...if I didn't want to go out to eat and spend her money! Well I got fed up after the fight, two days later she took me out again so I told her sternly that she needs HER money and that I was putting an end to her taking me out untill she get on her feet and I also told her that if we get into another fight like we did that it would be over because I am not fighting over stupid stuff and not being allowed to speak my side. If we can't both have a chance to speak then there is no point in dateing if it is all about one person. She got the point...for now.

When I was at work yesterday she called her dad and got into it with him over stupid stuff and did to him what she did to me, hanging up after she says what she has to say and not letting anyone speak. So I figured it was not just a one time thing, I think she probably does this alot when she is mad or stressed out...so I am not going to be stuck living with her, get into a fight, break up and get kicked out with no place to go...when I can just have a place of my own. I will stay with her at her place for a few nights a week, test the waters and see how we live together but I will have that safety net for sure. When I spoke with JBs280Z ( Jeremy, My brain trust ) He told me to think for a second...put all the emotional stuff aside and said " If you just met this girl and had no feelings for her whatsoever, would you put up with this crap?" I said of course not. Being that I do have strong feelings for her I decided to put my foot down, let her know where I am coming from and give it a shot...but only one more. I am not a push over and I am not going to let anyone walk all over me, I don't care how much I care about them. Like Jeremy said, sometimes careing about someone is not enough and I agree. This has to be a 50/50 relationship...it's the only way I will let it work now.

I understand she has problems, we all do. I am patiant to a point and I don't like to give up on things right away...but sometimes things can't be fixed no matter how hard you work at them or want them to work out. For my own piece of mind I have to know when to say it just cant work.......I don't want to be a bitter person. Wow this was a long blog!!!!

Oh for sure, I will clue everyone in here on the situation as it sits right now.

1. She is/was living with her dad
2. She is still married...the divorce is almost done
3. Her kids live with her husbands mother, she has 2 little girls
4. Her mother is real big into doing drugs
5. Her brother thinks he is a thug and is wanted by the law
6. Her dad deals with all of this
7. I work with her dad and he knows her and I are together
8. She is trying to get her kids back
9. Her husband keeps getting injunctions on her to make it hard for her to see her kids
10.She is working 2 jobs
11. Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick..................BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's just a matter of time.

But all that aside, when we have free time alone together we are the most happy people you will see.

Well, I made a clean and "painless" break from working with her dad this morning...did you know that in Pinellas County Florida, one can make between $600-$1,000 a week in tips delivering pizza!!! I shitz you not. So I am getting my MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) for the pizza place today, as it is a perfect driving record I should be golden...get it golden..my ZX is gold...get it?

My girlfriend and I got together yesterday at my sisters house, I was babysitting my sis's kids, then we went for the China Buffet when she got back. We went to my mom's bar and had a few drinks...I drink every once in a blue moon...by this time it was about 8:30pm so we headed to my house to pick up a blanket then we headed off to the beach. I took her to a semi-private part of Clearwater beach and it was empty. We went down by the water, laid out a blanket and just cuddled right there on the beach for like 2 hours, kissing, talking, listening to the waves crash on the shore and we saw some shooting stars. It was real nice last night, just before we left the beach she wispered for me to take her back to my house so I did. We got back to my place at a little after 11 and she finaly left at about 1:40ish this morning, we didn't have sex...we made.....well you know.

We had both been worried for about a week that she might be....you know....ummm with child....but she took the test...twice over two days including when she got home this morning....SHE IS NOT PREGNANT!!
