i suck at deciding..

so i got an email from the bank who financed my 92 when i first got it asking if i want to refinance the car, so i am stuck (again) a turbo 240z would be cool, but an ls2 powered z32 would be even cooler and more daily driver friendly. on top of all that tossing in an ls2 would be a hell of a lot easier to do then finish someone elses project. so ****, i guess i am stuck again.

everything in that post is wrong.... its much easier finishing a 90% done s30 turbo swap its easy as HELL! much easier than getting all the custom crap made up for an LS2 Z32 swap and then sticking it all in and then doing all that wiring which will be more difficult in a more modern car and any swapped Z32 is definitely NOT cooler than a nicely done S30 swap or not AND they are probably equal in daily driver friendly its hard to weight one over the other both motors are easy to work with and get parts for only thing i can say the S30 has over the swap is gas mileage but similar hp per ton but the Z32 will have the more modern luxuries so they even out

all i wold have to do with the ls2 is engine and trans mounts which i can buy, then the driveshaft i can have made in an afternoon and the wiring wouldnt be too bad, but with the s30 i would have to worry about surviving a crash, finding parts and how small the car actually is, i had a turbo s30 as a DD for a few days and it was fun, but i couldnt beet the crap out of it and put it away wet without something breaking, ontop of the aero problems and weak body structure you have to compensate for. where as the z32 has already proved to be safe, comfortable and i can beat the all living hell out of it and not have to worry so much, with the exception of the rear end getting light over 150, theres just less to worry about when driving a z32 and if it gets totaled, theres plenty more for where that came from!

im also deciding putting a ls1 in my z but in a s30. seems like you already made your decision. seem to be stuck on a ls in a z32. can always flip a coin. as for a dd i would have a car thats pretty close to stock = less to go wrong.

bah! i DD'd my S30 turbo beat the **** out of it only had issues when my ECU connections became loose. it was such a mystery! and safe? just dont crash its worked for me so far. also, the 240Z is not an unsafe car i've seen them get hit pretty hard they take alot of impact and keeps it low force on the people inside. the S30 chassis is thin BUT on just a L turbo motor you wont have any issues, its high torque V8 swaps that will try to twist the chassis on launches where it needs reinforcement. and where do you buy these moutns for a Z32 because i have never heard of them in my life! only for the S30 and S130 and even then only for an SBC 350. honestly, its your choice, but if you want a swapped car, i say go S30, and even then the only cast iron motor that should go into one of those is a L28et (or stock) or a better straight six turbo motor otherwise it starts getting shitty. and the Z32 shouldnt have any other motor stuck into it other than a VG30DETT because its a great motor and easy to find and swap, just expensive for parts haha. its just a car that i cannot justify getting a swap done because if it's NA to start its not worth any swap imho and if its TT then it doesnt need a swap.
