Hi Guys (the pet thread)
Hi Guys (the pet thread)
I have just finally bought my first Zed after 8 years of looking on and off...Here is my baby, a 1975 260Z 2+2.
I am doing a few things, mostly bringing it up to snuff and a few things to make it more reliable. Just some little things, headlights etc...
Really need some new pics...the last is before I even bought it. Dwarfed by a WRX in the first one heehee.

i was gonna ask the same^^^ not only cuase it was right hand drive but the license plate would gie it away...btw i can see your license plate...some peope liek to blurr that stuff out.... but i dont know foreign license plates so looking at it doesnt help me.
Thanks for the welcome, I am in Sydney, Australia...Ill update stuff now.
As for the license plate, it is already changed so doesnt really matter anymore...Ill decide on the blurring part when I take new pics.

Oh, cool! I had a feeling you were in Aussie. I've always wanted to go there to see the live roos and koalas!
If you have any pix of them, please post them in The Lounge. You've probably seen your share of them while living in Sydney. And, yes, several Aussies have already teased me about being careful while walking under trees. LOL!

We dont actually have roos and koalas wandering around in Sydney...
I do have a scar between my eyes from a car accident caused by a roo out west though. I grew up on a cotton farm about 7 hours drive from Sydney.
But you should come over sometime, there is plenty of wildlife to be seen once you get out of the city.

Sorry Barbie, you will have to do a little travelling to see them in the wild, we had grey kangaroos (smaller ones, around 5 and 1/2 feet tall), emus, echidnas, a few koalas but they are hard to spot and the odd wombat...along with lots of snakes and lizards and birds galore out in the country.
Kangaroos are actually a pest in a lot of places and can breed to plague numbers sometimes...we actually had to cull a lot of them.
You might be surprised but Australia is roughly the same size as the continental USA...just no where near as much habitable land.

Awe, they're so adorable in pix, but I'd probably think they were a nuisance if I lived in Aussie. I remember someone telling me that some koalas took over his property - sleeping on his Z, getting into his trash, etc. That's just not something we see here in the U.S. Cats and dogs can sometimes plague us with those types of activities though.
BTW, what's an echidna?

Heehee sorry, I forget that its not common knowledge...this is an Echidna. They are cute little guys, although they get up to about a foot long sometimes.
We had one that used to live in our work shop.
Koala's look cute and stuff but the wild ones can be nasty...I rescued one from my school when I was young and it scratched the poo out of me...lucky I was fast or I would have worn some koala wee too heehee

LOL! I don't even know the difference in a porcupine and hedgehog.
But, the Echidna looks like it has a beak, so it kinda looks like a porcubird.

Yep it is kinda like a porcupine...would be a scary bird heehee
The Echidna and Platypus are monotremes...they are mammals that lay eggs and also suckle their young...very weird yep...
this is a cool photo

DAMN YOU BEAT ME TO IT.. I WAS GOING TO SAY THAT THEY WERE 2 OF THE ONLY EGG LAYING MAMMALS. OH AND THE Platypus IS THE ONLY VENOMOUS MAMMAL IN THE WORLD AS WELL. AUSTRAILIA IS THE KOOLEST WEIRDEST PLACE ON EARTH. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO THERE TO VISIT MY BEST FRIENDS NEW "FAMILY"
Dont forget, we have the 10 most venomous snakes in the world too. Sometimes disputed...some think we only have 7...heehee
This is number 2, the Eastern Brown Snake...they are pretty common where I am from, I have even trodden on one...think I was lucky and trod on its head though
They rear with that S when they are going to strike...and if you back away from them they often give chase...no kidding on that one...

Suckled means they have a pouch and teats like a koala or kangaroo and the little guy crawls in and latches on for a while.
Yep, stepped out of my truck and the ground rolled under me...I ran like hell and looked back to see the snake...
Nasty pieces of gear they are, if you are confronted then run away, better still have a shovel handy to smack them with heehee.
The Red Back

And Funnel Web

are both deadly...mostly to young and old people. My dad is nearly as tall as me and still very healthy so didnt do much more than make him sick though

What does "trod" mean? Stepped or trampled on?
