When I shift through the gears of my 6-speed transmission on my 03. I find that my 3rd gear tends to grind if I don't allow the rpms to drop before I put it in 3rd. This is very annoying and i just wondering if anyone had an idea why this is happening. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Pimps.

Also I was wondering is it possible to wear out just one gear in a clutch? Sorry for being insolent.

 

If you grind a lot when shifting, you will eventually kill your synchros & then need a tranny rebuild. Is your 03 still under warranty? If so take it to Nissan.

 

Great News! I took the Z into a Nissan dealership and the transmission is being replaced free of charge. I also went ahead and asked how much to just slip another clutch disk in there since getting the transmission off is the hard part. The dealership told me the price for parts and labor and it will be under $200. I'm really happy. Thanks Guys!
