Z help needed
I would really appreciate any help i can get.
My Z (91 n/a) is bogging down hardas in it wont rev above 3rpm and do around 20mph max before it starts dying. Its also backfiring when its reved and just feels like it has no power. I just bought the car so i dont know much about them yet but the only thing done to it is full monza exhaust, oh btw it gave code 55 when i checked the ecu.

Raisan... They're not "******** Comments"... It rules you have to follow to get ANY respect on this site. I learned quick, you should try to do the same. Don't Swear, use correct punctuation,(this isn't a text message, so none of that crap) and don't try to be a smart@$$ with the guys that you're trying to get help from.
Now, SEARCH... The problem has been talked about alot. Just limit your search to Z32 and use the same key words you're giving us now. We're all here to help, but we shouldn't have to type the same thing 10 times.
Oh, Welcome to the site. There's alot of information here for you... just learn how to find it.

When did schools stop teaching grammar and when did parents stop teaching manners? Calling CC a ******** won't get you anything more than banned on this forum. Change your attitude or find a new forum.

I just posted what you posted on the ECU codes and their meanings. It looked like he still didn't read what you had posted when he mentioned again that he's getting a code 55.
I guess might as well as the 280ZX question for this problem....
Did you wash your engine bay recently? If so you might have some water in your connections there...(don't know if that works for 300ZX's)

my 3000GT friend is always all paranoid about the ECU failure that they suffer because of something leaking down onto the board in the ECU. I'm looking into the possibility that this could happen in our 300zx's. it causes false readings and false outputs. (not that i would dare degrade a 300 to the lowness of a 3000... no offense...)

Welcome, Raisanbran! We're sorry if you were offended by the previous comments, but proper punctuation and grammar really does help us in trying to read and understand the problem so that we can help more efficiently.
I would have to agree with Snowie on regarding the Code 55. Would you please try to run the ECU diagnostics one more time, just to make sure there's no error codes?
Sometimes you'll get no error codes if the procedure isn't done properly. Re-running the codes will help save you a lot of time in trying to figure out the problem, and reading our diagnoses of problems that might not even be relevant.

It's probably the fuel system. Pump failure can cause this problem, as well as a bad pressure regulator or dampner. Search and you'll find one of my many writeups on how to diagnose these. (Advanced search terms like "fuel system" by ZLover4Life, you should be able to find it.)
