Took a trip to JWT today
Hey, I went to JWT and got some quotes on some of their turbos. They charge more than AMZ for their own turbos. What the heck is the deal with that? I figured I could get a better deal going directly to the source. But, on a happy note. The shop that they recommend for servicing the Z is the very shop I take my car to.

When a manufacture sales to the public they tend to do so at their "suggested retail price."
But when a retailer gets the parts from the manufacturer they get it at a lower price and then go on to compete with other retailers prices and so you end up with a lower than "suggested" price.

That's how it is for 99% of businesses (here in the US anyway). Businesses don't like to deal w/ individuals... they want mass business w/ other businesses. There's other reasons too... like taxes & such.
