Tapping Noise Front Left Cam Sprocket Area
I Recently Purchased A 1990 300zx N/a. All Seems Ok With The Exception Of A Tapping Noise That Seems To Come From The Left Front Intake Cam Sprocket Or Timming Belt Cover Area, Same Side. Belt Already Changed. Any Advice?

Factually speaking........ The tapping could be a sticking lifter, noisy injector, or maybe the timing belt broke on the previous owner and one of the valves got slightly bent.
You can take a long screwdriver and put one end on various parts of the engine and put your ear to the other end and listen around to narrow down where the noise is coming from.
If it runs o.k., it's prolly not a bent valve because that will usually cause a compression leak in the given cylinder. If it's a sticking lifter, you can try running some marvel mystery oil in the motor and then change the oil. Some people use ATF. This is known to clean things up inside and eliminate some of the noise. On the noisy injectors, well they can be noisy.
