Starts but cant hold idle

Well cam seals are in and no leaky oil. now i can start the car but it cant idle.
when i start it up, it starts fine. trys to idle for a brief second or two, and the rpms gos down to the point which it stalls. I have check for disconnected or crack vaccum lines. TPU, i think it may be the MAF not sure. i dont have a spare one to try out. any advice about MAF or other things i may have looked over.

Sounds like a massive air leak (not a small vacuum hose leak)... check your intake pipes to make sure they are all on properly.

MAFs don't generally go bad for no reason. Also check the connectors on the rear driver's side of the plenum (one is the IACV).

How low do you think it's supposed to go? Z32s should idle around 800rpm. (And generally, you shouldn't mess with that until it's running healthily... you may have just added to the problems later on.)

Spec is actually 750 to 850, but I generally aim for closer to 850 so it's a little smoother.

... and of course you can't hear air leaks, the car is dying. lol

Check all your electrical connections to be thorough.

I don't recall, are we talking TT or NA?

it could be a fuel pressure problem. hook a gauge up, look for a drop after it primes, pinch the return line ext. that'll let you know if it's a fuel problem.

as for the maf.. just unplug it. if the problem persists, it's not the maf.

wow... that goes against so many threads that i've read saying that the maf doesn't affect idle.
