normally you add the tranny fluid through the dipstick hole on most atmos. But I m not sure on a Z32 tranny.

Through the tranny dipstick. Make sure you add it to the tranny dipstick and not the engine dipstick. That mistake would be catastrophic. When was the last time you changed your tranny fluid? Since you're having tranny problems, it mght not be a bad idea to just change it. Use a good quality tranny fluid. Don't use the cheap crap. Saving $10 now could cost you a couple grand in the near future.

2nd ............ maybe a good flush with new filter. If your tranny fluid is brown it needs changing. If it smells burnt, you might be in for more intense repairs.

I dont know if this is true or not with Z32 automatics..i know it is with american cars. I ve inturned a few garages and been around them long enough to know. But if the fluid hasnt been changed on over 60K..DONT DO IT! Leave well enough alone. You might as well take a jack hammer to your tranny. The reason is, your tranny pump is like a muscle. And like any muscle, if you do not keep it in shape it will wear out. When the viscosity of yout tranny fluid thins out, your muscle (pump) will weaken because it has to work less. If you go and drain that fluid, and add fresh. it is like lifting a thousand pounds after never entering a gym. Your pump is going to give out. You'll be better off leaving the fluid in there. And start lookin for another tranny. again, i know this to be true with Z32s. But in domestics it is a golden rule. Toyotas are the only japs that i know can exept. Mitsus...yeah right. Their tranny suck...especially DSMs. Its your call. but say i didnt warn you if it gets worse. Sorry

I change my fluid and filter every 20,000 on my street car and every 10 hours running on my Pro Mod. car.
