im planning on doing some mods to the Z, like the one piece driveshaft, fidanza flywheel..but one of my main concerns is if i put some stillen headers and the borla cat back system, how loud do you think that would be?...im just looking for a more growling sound...

it will be loud. make sure you get resonators with that catback

yup
pretty much any freer flowing upgrade you make will equate to more noise.

and then there are the test pipes too...will this cause some kind of trouble, with so much free flow wont that create some kind of..glitch?

glitch??? how so? more flow more go, no? it will make it even louder, and you have a TT no? does stillen make a header set for the TT? plus wont that be a pain to change? borla exhaust from what i hear isn't that loud, nor appealing to me at all either, but your exhaust.

he has an n/a. it sounds like he was planning on doing the headers when he replaced the flywheel(and hopefully clutch/rear main seal).

no glitch..just loud and probably raspy.

too little backpressure can potentially hurt your torque. should not be a problem with the setup he is considering though. and turbos dont get headers. there are performance turbo manifolds availlable, but price VS performance makes it an unnecessary thing.

yeah no sorry i was thrown off by the kev TT thing. so thats why i asked. in a way. and i know with turbo cars free flowing the more the better..to a point. fo rthe Na cars though i know you can start to loose alot of bottom end torque when the exhaust flows to well.

oh yes i read it, many times. i say test pipes with a 2.5" diameter and just mufflers would be adequate to keep some pressure up but free up exhaust flow. on an N/A that is. wow riz i had no clue you were form the chicago area. i wish i had a Z, id go and participate in some chicago Z stuff. or perhaps i could just steal the 280Z and fit in a bit that way. ok is it just me or does the chicago Z stuff mainly consist of 350's cuase thats all i ever see when i look at the website responds for meets/BBQ's

let it breath
I just asked they same question about my Z. Almost everyone told me to let it breath. Everything you put down sounds good but don't forget to put an intake system in. I bought my car from Z1 in Atlanta. They sorda cheated on how to install a intake. If your interested write me back. I'll send some pics and descibe how they did it. It will cost about $25. Let me know if your interested. If not good luck. I did change My intake and exhaust it did make a big difference.

yup, if you look under everyone's name, there's a spot there for where you're from, not everyone fills it out it seems.

The ChicagoZ.com and their meets are a majority Z33's. Not always dominant at all meets but well represented always.
