Lightened Flywheel.
Anyone ever have a machine shop take metal out of their flywheel?
After pulling it off the motor i realized it weighed like 438 pounds-ish.
Theres a machine shop in town, they do a lot with heads and engines and what not.
Anyone ever do this before?

yeah it's heavy, and it's definitely a good idea to have it resurfaced so that your clutch lasts as long as possible. i don't know about significant weight reduction though. if you look you can probably get lucky with a used light weight though. i found a fidanza with 8k on it for about $125 shipped. i LOVE the effect it has on the car. not really faster, but definitely more fun to drive. the revs sound so hot when they're that fast.
uh..

Availability isn't the only reason you shouldn't cut material away from a flywheel to lighten it... you want structural integrity. Get aftermarket or leave it alone.
But, as stated, resurfacing isn't a bad idea.
