Where is the car located?

Seems like you did most of your homework.

If the guy has a boost controller, he MUST have an ECU installed, because the stock program can't handle more than (as you found) about 10psi... stock boost is 9psi, so why install a boost controller unless you're significantly increasing boost?

If he has an aftermarket ECU (it better be Jim Wolf Technology, AshSpec, ZTuner, or Specialty Z or I'd flat out walk away), he better have at least an intake (and should have an exhaust, too, really), but injectors can handle about 16psi, intercoolers can handle 17-18psi on stock turbos (larger turbos blow cooler air, so they can handle more with bigger turbos, though it's not recommended), and the turbos are inefficient beyond 18psi or so. If he overboosted to the point of causing damage to the motor, a compression test will tell you. And if the car puts out a bit of blue smoke from the exhaust under heavy acceleration or when you first start it, the turbos are on their way out (and that is a BIG undertaking for someone not familiar with the Z32).

Regarding potential overheat, if it's not leaking, it's probably ok... bad overheats warp heads and cause all sorts of gasket leaks as a result. Do a compression and leakdown test if you can... search TwinTurbo.NET's FAQ for details on what the results should be (and also just read... you'll learn a lot about what to look for in that section).

As for the syncros, they were problematic before 94... don't bother rebuilding, it'd be a waste of money. You can get a 97+ JSpec trans and it'll be nice and robust for you.

Find a member of TwinTurbo.NET by the name of Bernie. He lives in northern Virginia and is one of the few Z32 gurus that I'd go to for help if I needed it. He may be willing to meet you there to inspect the car.

That's a nice TT Z man. I found one auction on ebay, for an OEM shroud. Not sure if N/A and TT are the same. Since it doesn't mention what engine it is off of. But here it is for you.

I would also suggest posting want ads for one. I am sure you are bound to find one. Good luck man.

You can relocate the detonation sensor to the back of the plenum. I just did mine.

http://www.angelfire.com/geek/vg30de...tSenRel01.html

You'll need a new sensor (someone on ebay sells genuine oem ones for like $45), a new harness (Z1, coz, etc), and a longer than stock bolt. 8mmx1.25 90mm long, or 100mm long with some washers which was all I could find (Napa). Worked for me, no more code 34. Can't guarantee it'll work for you though, you may have detonation problems that are causing the code.

Keep us posted, revival stories are always good. I was in situation similar to yours with my Z. Went fom VA to FL to get mine and got it back to find, surprise surprise, there were more things wrong with it than I thought. Now 4 months later Ive worked most of the kinks out but there were definitely some frustrating times in there.
