High idel
High idel
This morning when started her up to warm her up engine went to 2k rpm's and stayed there even after it got warm. Then it didn't want to shift without letting off the gas peddle, then driving down the highway at cruise it would shift from O.D. back down and kept doing this. Ambient temp was about 40F, engine temp indicator was showing normal, after I parked it, turned ignition off then turning key on, A/T light blinking, turned off again and then back on it wasn't blinking.

I also had high idle problems and I was afraid it was going to cost some money to fix it. I ended up pushing the connectors on the throttle position sensor together and noticed that they had worked a little free.. No more idle problems. I say you go through the entire engine bay and push all the electical connections together. It is an old car, there may be some corrosion there. A little nudge can be just enough to make continuity.
