HELP questions before buying

I'm getting ready to buy a 1990 TT from this guy. He says that the car runs fine when warmed up, but if you're cruising along and try to punch it or get i n thegas a bit, it bogs down. He just changed out the Air flow meter but that didn't help. Anybody got an idea on what the prob may be before i buy this thing? I don't wanna pay this dude , then have to fork out 2 or 3 grand more for repairs.

worried

chip??? z32s dont like "chips". the proper thing is to have the ECU re-flashed.

and a FMIC on a z32 is a) stupid b) ricey c) hurting performance rather than helping.

the mods you listed sound like stuff a kid would do, and the car has probably been thrashed on pretty good. i would not waste any more time looking at this one. personally, i would never buy a heavily modified car anyways.
