Has anyone tried the "last oil filter for your Z"?

http://www.gopurepower.com/store/ite...=8400&dia=true

I guess it's stated as the last oil filter and lasts a lifetime, never needing to be replaced. for $199.00 not bad but has anyone tried it?

Also at:
http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/LNP1/17-8018

Just curious as to the reliability.

Thanks!
Todd

If it really was all that good... it would be marketed all over, and car makers would prolly have it on all new cars...

how does that even make sense? unless teh oil filter can destroy matter and only that of debree (the only reason for any filter) which then it would be worth millions to science, its false advertisement....

hehehe, nvm i just read it. washable huh, doesnt sound all that complicated but uhhh, still not worth 200 dollars and probably made of a thick material if its washable and therefore have bad oil flow

we use something like that in my friends race car, there worth there weight in gold. but most people seem to think that the regular oil filters actually filter out the small stuff, i also use it on the bike, which spins 15k rpm and needs to be kept clean.

Yeah, they're pretty popular for use on race car motors. Inspecting the filter tells you alot about the internal condition of your bearings and stuff. Alot of people will still run a disposable filter inline and after this filter.

Interesting....not sure what I think about this one right now. Initially I'm skeptical, but then again I'm always skeptical.

It's not something new, although the filtering technology is a little better. Disposable filters weren't even invented until the 1950's. Before that ALL oil filters were reusable.

Here is the top-of-the-line product if you ask me:

Oberg Filters

Oh just thought of throwing out the question is all, maybe I'd find a lucky Z owner who has used it. Like I love watter-wetter in my radiator, it's proven to drop the temp of your engine up to 20 degrees, I was in Arizona/Phoenix HOT and it worked GREAT for me, my radiator looks new and there are no deposits on the cells, you can look down in the radiator, it's wonderful stuff!

The average oil filter is like 5 bucks or less. Thats 40 oil changes if you change every 2500 miles, which is 100,000 miles. I dont really think its that worth it.
