Fix It TICKET!!!

On my way home from the gym today I got pulled over for my exhaust being too loud and my brake lights not working. I have been meaning to change out the exhaust that came with the car when I bought it 2 months ago. And my brake lights are tripping. The parking lights turn on, but when I press the brake pedal the 2nd stage (Acutal Brake Signal) of the lights do not turn on. Only the 3rd brake (Center) light turns ons. Anyway... Does anyone know of a good auto electrical shop that can fix this? I am in the San Fernando Valley.
Also, I am looking into exhausts as well. I have narrowed it down to the Megan Racing Pipe package (includes: headers, downpipes, and catback exhausts), and the HSK HiPower exhuast. I know the HKS meets CA state law by not going over the 95 db noise level (or so they claim). Anyone know if the HKS Ti meets this law? Does the Megan Racing Dual Exhaust meet CA state law?
Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

HKS doesnt list the Ti any more on there site i think it was discontinued... plus the price is rediculous... its basically the same thing as the HiPower... same design any who. not same materials. at least on the outside. i would just go with the HiPower to be honest with yah

Actually, I know some1 who is selling their Ti exhausts for about $600. I love the look of them, that is why am in interested in them.

my z31 na has 'bullet' exhaust system from cat to xhaust tip--inexpensive. ricer sounding--'cause they allow air flow, non-restrictive exhaust to spare the high mileage engine in the car--was under 250 installed. looks good, too.
sounds good, too. and the engine has 245k and still lovin running

if you can get the Ti-Carbon for 600 go for it... i dont think it does match the DB restrictions... but thats just me takin a guess cuase ive never read anywhere that it does.... but never read anywhere it doesn't.
i assume this becuase off of ultimatz's site they list the Hi-Power as 50 state legal... but not the ti-carbon.... sooo this is me just assuming.

what kind of exhaust do you have now?

as far as quality...youre better off going with HKS. megan racing stuff is hit or miss most of the time. also, n/as dont have downpipes.

have you checked your brake light bulbs?

dido^^
plus it will all prolyl be mostly straight (megan stuff) so no emmission pass and more free flowing so possibly even louder... specially with headers MID PIPES (not down pipes) and cat back.
just buy the Ti-Carbon, sell it for more and buy the guranteed 50 stat legal Hi-Power and now you have some money

The exhausts are some after market mufflers. They aren't anything special, but they are hella loud! I was going to replace them in a few months with the HKS catback (either the regular Hi-power or the Ti), but I guess now it's a lot sooner.

Not only did I check the bulbs, but I replaced them when I first got the car.

just a little warning, that i forgot to say earlier. the n/a will always be pretty loud with an aftermarket exhaust.

for some reason, i want to say that theres a sensor on the top right side of the tranny for the brake lights. i cant remember if thats true or not tho.
