i just got my first ticket tonight, just moments ago. nothing exciting, just for not having a front tag.

 

just a fix it ticket or an actual citation..if you know what I mean.

 

naw, not a fix it, just a citation along with a $55 fine. anyone know if i can get a thin euro lookin plate for the front?

 

just drill 2 little holes in the front and put your plate on.....put some foam in between the plate and the bumper, so it doesn't scratch it.

 

Man, that's lame. I haven't had a front plate for 9 years. I got pulled over once, but the cop let me go. You got an **** cop.

i dont wanna put holes in my bumper. im planning on moving to FL where i wont need one anyways. do you need a front one in cali? most cars i saw there had one, but i dont know if its legal to not have one or not. Emo? PA and DE are in the clear for front plates along with FL, thats all i know of that dont need one for sure.

Although, technically it's for the 350 you might be able to adapt this for the Z32. The stock bracket mounts in the upper opening of the front fascia. There's two holes there for screws to hold the bracket in place. Unless you can order a mounting bracket from the dealer, you could always try to find a junkyard that has a Z32 or there's always Z1 motorsports.

 

THey do require it in CA. THey can be quite **** about it too. When I get pulled over, I'm gonna play the "I bought it like this, I didn't know...how do I go about getting one?" act. It worked for my friend.

 

yeah unless you raced them before, and blew their civic out of the water, then they go after you and then you lose your license for 6 months, and now you get pulled over every day so they can check your windonw tint........

 

A friend of mine got pulled over last week for not having a front plate. The cop probably would have let him off with a warning if he hadn't been drinking. DUI! Cops will pull you over for anything late at night, so be careful.

Not to diss on your friend, but drinking and driving is asking for it one way or another.

 

Yea, I know. I wasn't there. I heard he blew .11; which is weak, if you ask me. BAC legal limit should be higher. You can get to .11 after 3 beers in an hour. Weak. They should make us take driving tests while we're intoxicated to determine our indivdual limit. IMO

 

Man your guys cops are asses. Here in my town we have two that are real jerks. So far though I have had good luck. I have never been in an accident and I have never been pulled over. The max a cop has done to me is pull up next to me at a light give me the hand single to roll down my window (I thought there was something wrong) and then he told me I had a beautiful Z . I must say that was a nice thing for a cop to do you would expect them to be jerks but this one was nice. I was so shocked I could barely say thanks.

 

lmao, id be shocked too... like "...thanks? ..i guess..?" the kinda thing that just catches you off guard. okay, since i started this thread, this is what ive decided to do. going to bend the front plate at the top, bend it back so i can screw in from underneath and mount it in the opening of the stock bumper and bend the bottom under too so all that shows is the numbers....

 

too much work if you ask me.... just stick it in your windshield.

 

You know, you could fight it. If you haven't owned the car that long, go to court and tell them that you recently bought the car and it didn't come with a front plate. The cop that pulled me over for the same reason told me that if I ever got pulled over again for it, just tell them that it didn't have one when you bought it. May be worth a shot.
