exhaust issue

I just recently purchased a 93 300zx that had a K&n high flow air filter and an after market exhaust. The left exhaust pipe is putting off much more pressure than the right 1, a very noticeable difference, which seems to be causing a loss of power. originally, due to what a friend told me, i thought it was because it didnt have a dual intake, but ive recently learned that u only need a dual intake if u have over 400 hp and that the k&n is pulling more air than the stock duals were. there does not appear to be any kind of exhaust leak, and the pipes seem to be done correctly, no t piping and appears to be a true dual. im at a loss here. anyone got any ideas what the problem could be?

Do a compression test... and are you certain all 6 cylinders are firing? Search for how to track a misfiring cylinder and make sure none of them are misfiring. The loss in exhaust pressure isn't causing your poor performance... your poor performance is causing the loss of exhaust pressure.

don't know how i never noticed it before, but the hose conected to either the pcv or egr valve, dont know which 1 it was, was disconnected. hooked it back up, everything is fine now. didnt think that would make that much of a difference tho...

... that is a MASSIVE air leak, so your ECU was dumping too much fuel... you were misfiring, and thus there was no combustion for there to be sufficient exhaust...

well damn... thanks for the responses man, u seem to know a lot about 300's. since the hose was disconnected, and idk for how long, could it have caused any damage to the engine?
