Damn she needed a lot of work...

Well, I was finally able to do without my car for a week or so and got her to my mechanic. Originally only bought her in for a timing belt job, which i would have done myself but it's too damn cold out. I had him look into a gas odor that i kept smelling and a horrible power steering grind that had just started a day earlier. After he got the front of the engine apart, and made a list of all the things i needed to have done, the end result was roughly around $1700 in work. Along with the timing belt job, the power steering pump decided to start pissing out all the fluid so i need a new pump which i suspected, all my pullies are worn and need to be replaced, my cam seals and crankshaft seal are leaking, idler pullies, leaking timing tensioner, and all my drive belts are shot. Still not sure what the gas smell is, i think it might be a leaky injector, but im not sure. I had the same problem last year when i got the car, but had it fixed, or at least i thought i did. It seems to rear its head whenever it's cold out. The parts should be in by tomorrow so i hope to have it back late tuesday or wednesday. I'm gonna go down there tomorrow and check out the worn parts. Should be interesting to see. Coulda saved a lot of money if it wasn't so damn cold out.

To stop the fuel smell you just need to tighten the hose clamps on the fuel lines, heck they put it at the top of the page on twinturbo.net every winter.

Welcome to the wonderful world of owning a Z lol

I can't even tell you the amount of times I've gone in for a regular maint and walked out a day later with $600+ worth of work done, but at least it's stuff that NEEDS to get done right?

So I got my Z back today and it seems to be running a bit strange. It seems very sluggish, and i have no idea why. It has no whip-your-head-back acceleration anymore. It really sucks, and can't understand whats going on. Any suggestions?
