Finally... gas goin back down. $2.11 for 85, $2.31 for 91 here in SLC.

Ya see, That's the reaction those oil company execs are looking for. This is called "Conditioning". People get used to paying $1.50 for a long time, then prices shoot up to $3.00 for a while and we all go "Holy Crap!" Then, when they finally drop back down to $2.00 we are all excited to only be paying $2.00... Nevermind the fact that we were only paying $1.50 Sunsabitches!.

That kills me. The gas that WildMan is buying in Arizona is being trucked in from California, but he's paying less for it than we are here in SoCal. Sunsabitches.

I live in maine and the place up the road is at 2.12 but in New Hampshire it's gone under 2.00!

 

Here in Gering $2.23 for 85 and $2.43 for 91. I'm glad I don't drive my caddy anymore...

 

here in the desert of southern california its still around 2:87 for premium.

Suckas!!! I can get it for $1.99 down the street. If I drive two blocks past there it's only a $1.93. I can get premium for $2.17. I guess there's one perk to being out here in VA it's the gas seems to be cheaper than most other places. Now that my car is running right and street legal I can also afford the gas. Alls I need now is my speedometer to work right and I'll be good I remember when I was working at a Texaco a few years back, right after a fuel cost spike the gas got as low as $0.98 a gallon. The AM/PM across the street got as low as $0.99. Now keep in mind that this was a privately owned Texaco and the Texaco across town was charging well over a dollar still. But even then it was only in lilke the $1.30's. And it's funny Rod cause I was just talking to my wife the yesterday and she was so excited that gas was this cheap. She said that's cheaper than it was before. WTF!?! I tried to reason with her that we paying like $1.40-$1.60 before (in South Dakota) before prices went up like this. Then she got pissed off how gas is still too expensive. Hey I'm just happy I can afford to gas up the Z again

Rod has a point though. We shouldnt be happy about prices being back down. Its still high in my book. There was a spot on the news the other night that made me so pissed. Congress finaly got on the ball and adressed the oil co. and asked them why prices were so high. They gave such BS answers I could have ran in that room and kicked their teeth in. Their profits so far this year are 33 BILLION. Thats profit people, pure profit.

lol... yeah, here in B-Town it's still $2.40 / gal. I work on 53rd South & the Sinclair and Conoco just west of I-15 @ 53rd is the cheapest I've seen in the entire valley. I've gone to www.gasbuddy.com & there's very few that are that low.

 

I live REALLY close to Wildman, and $2.51 is regular for Chevron. That's all I ever run, cause it seems to run the car better. Rod is very correct, though, in suggesting it's about conditioning. I'm happy to pay $2.51 per gallon now, but a year ago it would've pissed me off. And that's only because it was up to $3.35 not that long ago. They raise it to extreme amounts and then lower it so that you feel relieved about it being anything lower. Basically brainwashing you into thinking thats a good price. Bastages!!

 

ehh, i remember when i just started driving i paid $0.95 per gallon to fill up my dad's car after driving around the whole weekend and it cost me less than $15 to fill the tank (this was back in 2001, after 9-11). i just filled up my car paying $2.63 for 93 octane and ,sadly, i'm actually relieved that it has gone down this much. when gas prices peaked here at just under $4 it cost me over $60 to fill the tank


For the Phoenix crew: remember how up until about 2 years ago, gas in the valley used to cost significantly less than the national average. it used to be about 10 to 15 cents cheaper than what the rest of the country was paying at the time. what the heck happened with that?

 

4 bones a gallon! I'd be raging! When it was ~$3/ gal here, there were people ditching out of paying all the time. One chick even ran over somebody in the parking lot as she jetted off.... now convicted of manslaughter. When it goes back up & peaks even higher.... I know there's gunna be riots like crazy.... Then we have the Europeans saying "stop crying! we pay tripple the cost!" Well... Europe also has crazy mass transit in every city, and driving to them is a luxury, not necesity.

 

Exactly. in Europe driving is more of a luxury than a necessity, as the mass transit system is the main method of transit for most people. i just spoke with my grandfather who lives in Russia, he just sold the car that he has had since 1960 because he can't afford to pay for gas and get by on free public transit anywhere he wants to go. if i could take a bus 15 miles to school every morning instead of having to drive i wouldn't bitch much about gas prices either

Hi Nismo, even if they pay triple, in 40 miles they go pass 10 towns n they usually work around the corner or in the next town..also their most popular cars are 1.3-1.5 1.8L, we can go for a day or two on 20 gallons they can fall on the ocean (in another country) with 20 gallons, proportionally we pay more, way more

 

$2.09 around here. It went up to $2.20 now it's coming back down again...
