92 Loses power when I hit the brakes...
Hey everyone. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
I just bought the car about a two weeks ago. Runs like a champ but the strangest thing happens when I hit the breaks. (This problem is not always reproducible)
Tonight I was able to reproduce the problem three times in a row before it finally went away.
While driving down the road I hit the brakes and notices that it killed the headlights. I did it again and this is when the problem arose.
As the lights went out the car started “sputtering”. It acted as though it was not getting fuel but as it “sputtered” all the warning lights on the dash flickered on and off. It continued to do this for about 15 seconds and then would stop. I repeated this process several times and during one such event I put the gas pedal to the floor. The car kicked down and tried to accelerate but continued to do this. I think it’s electrical. Has anyone seen this and if so what was the culprit.
Many thanks.

i would say check the ground cable from the battery where it connects to the frame of the car... this can get corroded and come loose, after that just start checking all power cables to see if any might be loose enough to short something when they get pushed forward in car during braking
