~Brakes~

after hearing squeaking from my brakes, i took it by a mechanic shop and had my rear brakes replaced. i garaged my z for the winter, and after a week, i took it out for a spin, and now i dont have any brakes, whenever you tap them, there isnt any grip. i called up my mechanic and its in the shop now, again. anyone know what the problem might be ?

Are their any leaks? Puddles in the garage, etc. Can u pump them up, or does it stay to the floor?

you might have to bleed the brakes.

check fluid level. if the pedal is goign all the way in and no brake presure... it's a littel expensive but U are gonna have to replace the Master cylinder.

Courtesy parts... 238.75$http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...de=46010-00005

then again u can call my good buddy rober over@ Z1 and get 1 for 54$ that's how much I got mine for. just replaced it recently.

I wouldn't just buy the master cylinder unless you know for sure that it's the problem. It could be the caliper piston seals or the lines. Generally, it takes two people to check this. Fill it up with fluid and pump the brakes with someone under the car. Look for leaks.

Since someone just did your rear brakes, I would suspect a problem back there. Maybe they left a bleeder loose, Or damaged a line, or screwed up and loosened the wrong bolts on the caliper.... :yikes:

well I think my clutch master cylinder along with my slave cylinder need to be replased. when I drive the ar normal it's ok. but when it rains and I have a "Spirited" drive after about 35 mins the clutch slowly dies untill there is a point where the clutch predal only travels about 4.5 - 5.5 inches. the fluid level is fine. but I have to pump the clutch a couple a times before I can get it into gear @ a stop light. what U guy's think???

Yeah I had the same problem w my car. I replaced the slave cylinder first..then i ended up buying the a clutch master cylinder. Advance carries reduild kits. But for the ease and convience, I would just buy new that way everything is how it should be.
