are you effing serious? You could of gotten an OEM Nissan for cheaper than that... wtf do you need 140 amps for? IIRC stock alternators are 85 for NA and 90 or 95 for TT? I'm sure i'm off a little and i doin't have my FSM here but seriously.... wtf do you need 140 amps for?

My NA altnerator powers my 400w amp and 1800w 12" sub, all 4 speakers, head unit, silver star head lights, fog lights, side markers, bright lights, tail lights, and everything eletrical in my car with no problem. I have my amp bridged to the sub, so i know that thing is sucking some juice.

I personally would of gotten something from nissan, i here the infinity J30 or G35 alternators are a direct replacement for our car, but i can't confirm that and they put out more amps. but still..... wtf do you need 140 amps for?

I don't think he'll have anything to worry about with that alternator... most of the alternators on the market, whether they're sold by Nissan, AutoZone, or somewhere on eBay, are made by Bosch anyway. It is a bit steep, price-wise, considering you can find a J30 alternator to give more amps than stock for less... but whatever.

price is my only thing, why pay more, especially from e-bay than you have to? like you said most alternators are from bosch (just put one on my truck tuesday in about 20 minutes that was remanued by bosch), but even still e-bay is always a risk for parts for our car, so why pay more for a risk? I don't understand... but w/e

Well i had the nissan dealership install the new alternator just a FYI " NAPOLEAN " i have a Kenwood Excelon 401 mono amp 1200watts @ 2 ohms to two mtx 12" in a ported box then i also have a Kenwood Exelon 301t 800 watt @ 2 ohms to two kenwood excelon 6x9"s i also have a 5 farad cap , but when i want to hit 145 db or higher i needed a 130 amp alt. or higher so i got a 140 amp. BY the way i have a kenwood excelon 815x 50x4 going to 4 sets of 6.5 componets. so yea " NAPOLEAN " i needed a bigger alternator .
Now at night with my " HIDS " on my heater on there is no more diming lights no more low rpm drops. but yea the price was high but well paid for... ill keep yall posted !

"ok" "NISMO" "i" "hope" "with" "all" "those" "eletronics" "you've" "equally" "spent" "a" "good" "amount" "on" "a" "security" "system" "because" "it" "would" "be" "a" "SHAME" "if" "all" "that" "STUFF" "GOT" "STOLEN".

btw, 145dB is enough to permanently damage your hearing. you should probably not ride around with the volume up so loud your pulling that much juice to go higher than 145 dB anyways.... so in theory, if you cared anything about your personal health, you wouldn't need anything larger than 130 amps bc you wouldn't have it turned up so loud.

also, you probably could of installed the alternator yourself. it's a pretty simple job, would of saved you money. there's a write up on tt.net

btw, you can just call me zheking for short....

it's caring, not careing. knowning isn't a word. Your last sentence should say "There ARE a few people..." The needed should be present tense, not past. And in your first sentence it should be "As far as" not "and". Also, it should be "here" not "hear." The word "hear" refers to what you won't be able to do much longer, not a location.

That is disrespectful. See the difference? I asked what you needed 140 amps for and you told me, and I dropped it and pointed out that you could of saved some money by doing it your self, pretty simple job really.

It's kind of like when you when a basketball game 90-30 and someone says "HOLY FU** YOU BEAT THEM THAT BAD?!" Very similar to my "WTF DO YOU NEED THAT MANY AMPS FOR?" type questions, it was more of a question of shock, because that seemed excessive. You responded with your massive amount of eletronics in a some what rude fashion, and although I usually let things drop, I felt a desire to slay you. Thank my ex-wife, she has set me in a bad mood as of late. YOU need to realize that this is the internet and that you can't hear someone's tone of voice and not look at everything in a pessimistic view point. The world isn't out to get you, and I certainly hope no one on this web-site would be out to get a fellow Z owner, I know I'm not. The glass is half full, not empty. /Flame off

Here is someone on TT.net that put a 140 amp Inifinity I30 alternator in their car, if the e-bay one craps out you might consider this.
http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/fo...inity-I30.html

as far as altenator removal, once you get the drive belt off (losen the 12mm lock nut on the front of the tensioner, then loosen tensioner) the steps are..

Loosen mounting bracket on engine block (1 x 12mm)
Remove upper pivot bolt (1 x 17mm)

There will also be some wires to disconnect IIRC and a ground.

That should help you out if you find yourself needing to replace or remove it. And save you some money.

BTW, you can just call me zheking.
