well i just rol down the windows on the really dark nights if i need to not worth the money to change it if you ask me. i would rather save the money for a tt swap instead. and the sun doesnt bother me much and my a/c is working great so the tint will probally stay till i get a ticket. i just have the grey tweed in there now but i have been working on the interior since the tweed was falling off.

speaking of tint, is there a good way to remove it? Every time I've ever removed tint or transparent window graphics, you're left with all kinds of residue. The best thing seems like goo gone, a razor blade, and a whole bunch of time. My 280ZXT when I got it had really annoying flame/tint decals on the door and quarter windows. It made it really annoying to look through primarily because the flame portion of it was a separate tint than the whole thing. I'd find myself rolling down the windows alot on cloudy or at night to just see out. I was happy once I got rid of it.

instead of using a razor blade use a scotch bright pad the sponge with the steel wool type back. it freaking ROCKS! and doesnt ruin the insulation on the heater wires for the rear defrosters unlike razor blades.

naw the guy was actually realy cool about it since i told him i bought the car that way and had no idea.
he just told me to pull it off asap and bring proof to the court to get it dropped.

i got a total of 3 tickets this morning
1. tint
2. didnt have my insurance card
both of these i will get out of just have to bring proof to the court
3. speeding going 11 over.
i was going 56 in a 45 when the 50mph sign was literally 200-400 feet in front of me but since the limit doesnt change till you pass the sign i got nailed.
i honestly think i wouldnt have been pulled over in the first place if my tint wasnt so dark.

i was told if the tint is in good shape to peel the tint on the corner with your finger nail till you can grab it and start to peel slowly and then wash the window with soap and water to get the glue and residu off

I don't have any tint. No A/C either. My daily driver in the AZ heat. But, it's still better than my last daily driver/rider. My motorcycle. That's hot. You actually get burnt from the wind.
120 in the shade comes to about 160 in the sunlight, then add the engine, and other vehicles, and asphault.
That was fun.
I will be getting tint, but I am going to keep it legal, unless I get it done for free by my buddy. Then it's worth the repair ticket. haha

Nice looking Z by the way. I would black out the lights, and get some nice black rims. Something about a blacked out car that just screams badass.

We need to get some Z's together in AZ. Next year at HIN we need to take over, instead of all the Scions.

No..Blinged out Z would be gansta.
I don't think blacked out should be considered gangsta..
In the true style of a personal hero. Ghostrider. No, not Nick Cage. The real Ghostrider.
Blacked out and ilegal looking cars are sick.
I am starting to question your taste snw. haha
You need a Z again.

So they are trying to steal something cool. Whatever. Didn't say it was not something gangsta. But, not in these parts. Our "gangstas" are mexican around here.
I am just saying it is cool, and should not be considered gangsta.
Just looks outlaw. I don't listen to rap, and I think it's bad *** looking.

i am going to need to re tint it and go as dark as possible cause driving it feels so weird and it bugs me.

for the record, amonia takes tint glue off, thats why when you use window cleaner, make sure it doesn't have amonia in it. also, a heat gun will help tons, and a sponge like snwboarder said...

Also, I wouldn't have taken the tint off. all you have to do is roll your windows down where they can't see them, then if they ask you to put them up so they can check it, then comply sure.

second, i wouldn't have taken the tint off, find someone else with a black z and no tint and take that to court... "here i took the tint off, here's a picture!" just don't drive the z that day, hitch a ride from a friend. hell get a picture off the internet for what it's worth.

The general rule of thumb i follow when tinting windows, if you can hold your drivers liscence up flat against the window, shine a super bright (cop type) flash light on it and see it, your good. thats just me though.

I used this sheet in my shop when I had a tinter: http://www.iwfa.com/iwfa/Law_Chart/S...%207-19-07.pdf
It's old but I'm pretty sure it's up to date.

I always used a heat gun and a razor blade to remove tint.
