i feel like i just want to add my opinion. ALL hicas systems are crap, they are a way to add weight and price to a car and is just more crap to go wrong. it was a neat techno ploy back in the day and honestly is worthless in my opinion. might make lane changes neat but the benefit isn't greater than the drawbacks. hicas can blow me.

if i were building an all out track car, it may be worth it to me to take it off, but for street purposes, i think the benefits do out weigh the draw backs.

Zlover- I said I like it for street driving. Just not in wet conditions. So I guess I halfway agree with you.

oh a irrelevant fact, it was a guy down under and you had to remove something in the ecu and solder a couple wires together.

Sounds perhaps like a jumper wire to bypass the speed signal in the ECU. This would still potentially cause other issues on the Z32 (such as HICAS possibly not receiving a speed signal, for example - just speculation).

Hi all. I have to add a couple of things
1. That the speedo on the Z is not entirely accurate, when my 300 was completely standard the speed limiter cut in (at I assume 155mph) but the speedo was reading 165.
2. The easiest Turbo conversion is to upgrade from the standard T25s (here I assume the T stands for tiny) to T28s these can then be bored out, flowed ported, bearings changed etc and make a huge difference. JWT and Stillen both do (expensive) TT upgrades but my reckoning was that as the T28 is good for a two litre 200/240 then 1.5 litres of 300zx each would be a breeze (plus they are plentiful and therefore cheap at wreckers yards)
3. Yes a new ECU is required, there are loads out there again not expensive (I am on #17 now)
4. Twin turbo change + ECU + 3100cc bore out and a few other mods = 543bhp and off the end of the speedo, with space should be good enough for for over 200mph, without changing gearbox
5. if you think 155 is fast enough you are in the wrong forum and in the wrong export! try http://priuschat.com/

LOL. Post about putting T28 cartridges in stock housings on TwinTurbo.NET and see how many people TEAR into you because it's such a sh*tty idea.

If this (and saying 155 isn't fast enough) is your first post, my advice is to either leave or do a WHOLE lot of reading before posting again.

b300z - There's a guy from Japan who hit 205mph on the stock 5-speed and R230 (something like 8krpm limiter allows 212mph if you have the power to get there).

b300z- Use the calculator that Zlover posted it can be done (or just read the above post)

power is the real demon I face if I actually attempt that 200mph goal. I'd need alot of road, really good tires, and almost double the stock rwhp (thats a rough estimate) Oh bigger/ brand new brakes would be nice so I dont kill myself trying to stop a 3300lbs car going 200mph in a reasonable distance.

If you do this on public roads, you'll officially be the dumbest person I know.

If I can find somewhere private I will do so. I have atleast 2 years to worry about finding a location, I cannot afford to even think about modding my Z to those lengths yet.

200mph + city street + bump = bye bye car x dead bodies.

er wait... I was looking for this equation:

if all you want to do is hit 200, the z is not the cheapest car to do it in. probably not the easiest either.

I dont think the pythagorean theorem applies here haha!

The only place I'd do on public roads is the same stretch of highway what I hit 155mph on only because I felt safe there (not bumpy) and If I goe late at night there is not a single car on the road.

KasbekZ- What car would you define is inexpensive to make go 200mph I would like to know of this car and start lookin on craigslist for one because if You can buy/make a car go 200mph+ for cheap I'd like to learn about it.

LOL!!! I'm only half serious about that I seriously would like to know the car you speak of but I'm not trying to be a dick.

I love my Z and hitting 200mph+ in it isnt a goal I've even set just a cool idea to think about. I have no doubt this is probably going to be the fastest car I will own (though I doubt I will stop buying cars 4 aint enough) I just want to bring out as much of that potential as I can (while retaining its streetability)

the keywords you have to switch out are motorcycle for car and ***** for cheap. and i thoroughly expect to build myself a 200mph z before i die...

and dead body's are only cool if you didnt kill them, if they are still in one piece and they are fresh.

... uh... that's the quadratic formula. Pythagorean Theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2 used for finding the lengths of an unknown side of a right triangle given two known sides.

two sentences and a formula explained that twice as good as my algebra teacher in HS.

lol i was about to point that out.

i didn't say that i know of any car that is necessarily cheap to do it with, but there are definitely some strait line cars that you could put less into to do it. the mustang comes to mind. super cheap, and plenty of decent N/A mods that you can get. but then again, it is a strait line car. camaros and other such worthless-to-me american V-8's come to mind. though i'm not a pro on the subject, so i may be wrong. i'm just guessing they would be cheaper to attain that goal with than is the Z, which is a quite expensive to mod car that is great all around, so over all, that probably slows it down when just trying to go in a strait line.

My bad I just saw it and that was the first thing that came to mind (pythagorean theorem lol!)

Yeah my mustang would be a good candidate for the 200mph goal but I was kinda planning on keeping it at 300bhp. Though the way it is now I hit 145 pretty easily, actually now that I think about it it was pretty crazy how quickly it maxed out (I actually could have gone faster but the headliner bowed down and hit my head so I let off and pulled over, haha silly headliner)

I still plan to mod the Z probably to the same extent I would to reach the 200mph mark mainly cuz I would like to attempt to get it into the 11's when I'm done with her.

Really good idea though KasbekZ it never crossed my mind to have my stang reach that goal.
