tires

is there a limit to how many times a tire can be installed and removed? i'm wondering if the bead will hold up to too many of these. i want to rotate my tires from one side to the other.

The tires themselves, or the tires on the rims...

Will it matter?

I dunno about this kind of technicality

^ Z32 *wheels* (the rim is the outer part of the wheel) cannot be rotated side to side.

I have never heard of a limit, but you should do your research. Rotating tires isn't recommended as it once was. Good alignment eliminates the need.

yeah agreed. i'm generally not a fan of rotations. but with bad alignment, i've just badly worn the insides of three tires. now i'm fixing all the camber (and yes toe is getting redone as well), and i just want to put the worn spots on the outside and see if that lets me get some more miles out of the tires. granted, they may continue to wear on the low spots, or i might get a shake, but i think it's worth a try.

btw, i just ordered the $125 set of adjustable rear uppers from courtesy. any idea why they're so cheap? know who makes them?

lol Should've done that research before you ordered them. I thought you would've learned at least that much by now.

Your $125 Courtesy Parts unbranded Camber Arms...

...

~$69 shipped from...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-96...Q5fAccessories

What's that saying? Buy cheap, happy ending? No, that's not it... Oh yeah! Buy cheap, buy twice.

no.....
dayuuuum. i was going by the saying that someone once said on here that courtesy only sells oem or better parts. i didn't think courtesy would carry anything that wasn't better than oem. do you think they'll break? or loose adjustment?

They'll probably lose adjustment. How could you not know? They don't look anything like any name brand product on the market. lol

And who said Courtesy only sells OEM or better parts? Every vendor is out to make money... Coz and Ultimate Z both sell eBay parts, as well.

I don't remember who said it. It was on here though. I think I'll give them a try now that I've ordered them. If they don't work, I'll put the olds back on

By the way, wanted to mention that since you will only get one or two rotations out of a set of tires for a Z32, you'll be fine having the tires swapped - the bead can handle at least a few install/remove cycles.

If we were talking about tires that'd last for several years and you were going to rotate annually, there might be something worth worrying about. But on a sports car, performance tires might last 2 or 3 years, at best.

haha honestly i've done quite a few dry parking lot doughnuts with those tires. i used to work late at a restaurant on the weekends and every time i left i'd light it up big time! those tires just hold up really well. probably not as sticky as most though. riken raptors. if i hit the gas much at all coming out of a turn i loose it. i'm starting to push the car to it's limits and just want more. hence so much suspension work!

damn though that sucks about those arms. i didn't really research them any at all because i was going off when someone said courtesy only sells oem or better. i'm thinking strongly about sending them back now. i'll have to take a look at them when they get here. they just don't look like a design that will come out of adjustment, but i'll probably end up sending them back. i really don't buy ebay stuff for the z.

... you're looking at more than twice as much ($289) for a set of SPL rear camber arms (that should've been your giveaway that these weren't name brand), so keep that in mind.

And in the future, I recommend only SPL (and Powertrix) for suspension components of this sort.
