my key is stuck in my ignition. any known problems out of the z that cause this? can it be caused by an after market alarm or by the factory alarm box that i removed not too long ago.

 

have you tried moving it forwards to ignition and then back and pressing the release button. try moving the steering wheel also.

 

yeah tried all kinds of stuff. tried some spray to loosen the key; didn't help. the car does crank like regularly, the key just won't come out.

 

My key used to get stuck. Turned out there was a piece of wood in the ignition.

 

Before I bought my Z, the previous owner said that someone tried to steal the Z and when he got it back and put the key in the ignition, it got stuck. well after i bought it, i had to take the ignition out of the steering wheel and there was a plastic lock kinda thing on it. i dunno if thass wat happened to yours too.

 

yeah i got my key out. the fixture that the key-release button is on has another small red key release button on it (mine did at least) that could be pressed without removing the steering wheel housing. maybe it's part of the alarm. but i just taped the little red button down and now my key comes out when i push the main key release button like usually. :burnout:
