shell or complete Z?

i am wanting to get a tt shell that i can work on for now, and then find a good TT engine/tranny down the line.
the question is, am i better off getting a complete Z, so that i can take the engine and tranny out myself, and be able to label stuff as it is disconnected, or would it be worth the saved money to just get the shell?

If you buy just a shell, you'll have no idea what is missing. It could end up being a nightmare trying to find the $5 part that you didn't know was supposed to be there to get it running. I suggest the complete car that needs a rebuilt motor or something.

i already talked to the guy...if i want, he will take the engine and tranny out, everything else is there.

what would be a good price for a tt w/ bad compression, good interior, and poor paint then?

WHy get a TT...find something like a good NA shell or something like a Slicktop...join us three with our Slicktop Zs. Build the chassis and body, then drop in a TT engine. That way you ll already have the 4.08 rear end and wont have to worry about the HICAS giving you troubles since it hasnt been used in a few years.

no offense to you slicktop guys, but i dont think ill ever buy a z32 without t-tops

and i wanted a TT shell, so that i would have everything for the TT except the engine and tranny, instead of having to get a front clip, or search for parts, or whatever

BUT i decided to keep my n/a for a little while longer

Yeah, and now there's a guy on another forum threatening to part out his '95 slicktop if no one takes it off his hands. So that might be one less on the roads.
