z32 shell

Hey guys around how much do you guys think a z32 shell cost. I have a guy selling me a TT shell for $2000....its missing a front bumper front driver fender, motor, tranny, driveshaft, front brakes, driver seat, the light strip on the hatch, and thats pretty much what he told me it was missing. The shell isnt clean it needs a paint job, the interior is banged up a little bit. How much would you guys pay for it. And where are all the VIN numbers on a 300zx. Thanks alot for the help guys.

i saw someone selling a running slicktop for that much. not in great shape, but all the pieces were there. 2k sounds high for just a shell.

Just cause it USED to be a TT, it's not anymore. Which means it's not worth getting ripped off over. As was said above, you can get a complete NA for that price.

I'd offer him $500, take it or leave it, $1000-$1500 maybe if it were in really good condition and just needed a motor....you start getting in to the $2k range, and you'd be better off just buying a running NA that needs the same amount of work.

First of all what is your intention with a shell? A custom build? A parts heap? What?

2k would be high for a chassis. Look on EBAY and you can see what you can find for that much money and a little deductive thought.

z32 shell

I intend on rebuilding it. I knew the price was really high when he told me but i wasnt sure how much they went for. Also the VIN number on the dash dosent match the one on the front end, he said he bought a new front clip a while back...Can you guys tell me were all the VIN numbers are located on the car. Thanks for the help.

There's a free rolling chassis posted on another forum. The chassis is located in Ojai, Cali.

z32 shell

I stay in miami so Iam looking for a shell around here iam not really intrested in going far. So far the only shell i have found is one for $2000, i think the price is ridiculouse for a shell thats not even clean. It needs a paint job, minor body work, and its missing a seat. The guy is giving me the jdm front with it but I think the the price is still too high when the car clearly needs about $10,000 in work. Its a turbo body without engine tranny, wiring harness, front brakes, and other minor things. If you guys can tell me were i can find a shell locally its would help. Thanks.

I WOULD THINK THAT IS A TAD BIT HIGH. BY THE TIME YOU REPLACE EVERYTHING THAT ITS MISSING YOU COULD AFFORD TO BUY ONE THAT IS COMPLETE. I AM NO EXPERT ON THESE 300ZX CARS BUT IT SOUND LIKE TOO MUCH ANOTHER THING TO KEEP IN MIND IS IF IT HAS OVER 60,000 MILES HAS THE SERVICE BEEN DONE YET? IF NOT YOU WILL BE LOOKING AT ANOTHER $1,000.00, AND I WOULDNT JUST TAKE SOMEONES WORD THAT IT HAD BEEN DONE, I WOULD WANT THE PAPERWORK.
