NooB with a new to me Z

I picked this car up from somebody that never could get it running. It’s a 94 300 ZX tt. It was the injectors. It runs very strong at higher idle when I test drove it, but it doesn’t idle and runs really rough at low idle. It has an APEXI super air flow converter on the dash which does not work. If I unplug it, it idle is perfect, but will not rev very high. My question is if I disconnect it is that a bad idea? Should I cut it out of the harness? I did disconnect the signal wire going to it and put it backwards supposed to be on the ECU and it still ran the same. I’m not sure if that even is the problem being that it’s not working and just sitting on the dash. I’ve cleaned the idle air control valve and the MAF changed plugs, cleaned all the injectors. When it’s cold and starts up, it runs pretty good. Then like a switch suddenly runs bad about 30 seconds to a minute after it starts . I hope someone reached through this whole thing lol this was long. Can somebody help with some suggestions, please?
