NEWBIE NEEDS HELP!
Hello all, I've been reading this post for a while now and you all seem to be a bunch of rather cool individuals. I am a reformed PORSCHE owner. After 5 of these beasts have come and gone from my posession, I still find myself drawn to the 300XZ TT (Z32). After all these years IT is still one of my favorite cars. THIS is where you fellah's get to help me. I am currently in the position to buy a '95 300XZTT (Z32) for the amazing price of $4200.00 <---(yes there is a catch..) Here are the problems with the car that I can see without putting her lovely **** up on a rack...
-Desperatly needs tune up.
-Perhaps a valve job
-Turbos need to be checked but don't whine or lose pressure.
-Cosmetics need attn (interior radio panel destroyed)
(exterior flawlesss)
-Needs heavier weight oil + oil change. (theyre currently running what "FEELS" and seems to be 5w-30 in the car ( at 121k MI. ) I feel it should be changed to maybe 20w-15?
-General engine crud (needs cleaning to be presentable.)
-Gearshifter is loose needs to be re-attacched. (take the center console off and physically tighten the mech. )
Other than that guys. she sounds like a Diamond in the rough to me... I'm going monday to get her but I thought I would see what kinda feedback I could get from you more experienced fellers on what that may cost me to get properly fixed. (Until I have time to buy and read the entire service manual to the 95 300ZX TT I'll be using a shop for the more technical aspects of the "polishing" of this beauty. ) I have put in countless hours of wrench time on my PORSCHES and the 300ZX simply CANNOT BE AS MUCH OF A PAIN IN THE @$$ to repair / service
so Please gimme some feedback and some suggestions or comments. BY THE WAY. You guys are a trip, looking forward to conversing with you soon.
-Just a bit about myself.
19yrs old - Texas, MALE, MARRIED <--- sorry ladies.. make too much money for my own good and have a huge passion for cars. 6'1" 185Lbs , been into martial arts for 12 years, rock climb for sport, and love a good adrenaline rush...

Re: NEWBIE NEEDS HELP!
to be honest, i wouldnt waste my time w/ that car.
122k miles? expect new tranny and turbos's very soon. turbos can be a 7k job, and tranny pricey too....for sure not worth that when it comes to what you will pay to get that z32TT back up to par.
tune up will cost you about 1k or more, depending whats wrong, valve job will be another 1k
seriously, if you live in texas, then you can find a way better Z32 for a lower price. Texas has the cheapest cars usually. Go to www.twinturbo.net and check out their classifieds, you can find a very nice one for usually about 10k or so, how far are you willing to go for a nice Z32? there is one here in the Bay Area right now with only 88k miles on it, lots of new things for 10k, expect only about 600 for shipping.
