Yay, a slicktop.

You guys are harsh. It's a very 'American' paint scheme. You know what's funny,....it looks better than most of the Camaro's and Mustang's I've seen painted that way.

Nice....as it being a slicktop. But not a fan of the stripes. Lose em and you are golden.

Welcome to Zdriver BTW.

There's a bunch of options....You'll pretty much have to get a front clip either way. You're best bet with the JDM motor is to refresh it first. The problem is that a lot of people think they can just drop in a jdm motor and be golden...not true.

beleive it or not, all nissan 300zx's are made in japan. there is no big thing about a guy swapping a motor from japan. he can proclaim jdm but all z's have the exact same motor.

as a matter of fact, it was mentioned somewhere that the cams on the auto 300zx in japan was sh!tty. it gave less hp.

but to answer your question, it doesnt matter where you get your motor from.

and about how much, a lot of things come into play. heres a site that offers the motor swap for $1900 + 200-375 shipping. http://www.jspecautosports.com/catal...spx?prod_id=49

plus you still have to get the pipping, intercoolers, maintinence kits.

in the end, about 8k total if done right and you did it yourself

Regardless if they're different or not (which there are some differences), would you take care of a motor as much if you knew that you were gonna have to change it out after just 60K miles anyway? The facts are that there have been many that have installed jdm motors and suffered from it.

This is a quote from Coz....a very reputable individual in the Z community IMO.
"We've never seen one J-spec engine perform/run correctly."

I checked it out, and it doesnt seem too "complete" to me....good deal tho, I'd still rather go w/ a clip for the little things like braces, and mounts, not to mention a good visual walkthrough beforehand. (+ the pedals, and clutch acc. since my swap would involve an AT-MT too)

EDIT: Oh yea, and welcome to the forum.....nice, um, stripes (I cant really talk w/ my primer paintjob)
