New Comer here
Hey everyone,
New member here and was checking out the forums and I really like what you guys have got going here. Ive been searching for a good board for quite some time now. Finally think ive found it. I dont have a Z, YET, but am seriously looking for a fairly low mile 93'+ TT 300ZX. Just thought i'd post a thread and try to get to know some people who can give me advice on purchasing my Z. Ive read some threads on what to look for and all i can say is WOW that is all a big help.
Any comments or anything feel free to reply, id love to hear from anyone.

What does everyone think about buying on EBAY? Im skeptical to bid on a car that ive never saw and end up getting screwd over when i get there and find out its a piece of junk (Since most posts on ebay never seem to be close to me i cant drive to see the car before buying)
I'm not sure I would call you a skeptic. I would say wanting to see and test drive a car before you buy is just plain good sense.
Besides keeping an eye on classifed. You could try posting in the 'wanted to buy" sections of different forums. Someone interested in selling might come across it.

Yeah i know i should test drive before buying, but what im sayin is it's kinda hard to do that when the car im looking at is a good long drive. I guess this is why i plan to go through my local dealer.
Yup, good ol' indiana. Im about 3 hours from chicago. Not to bad of a drive, my friend has a MR2 and was planning to come up for the MR2 meet on the 11th, unfortunatly it didnt work because were going to pensilvania to check out appartments for 'Wyo Tech' which were going to start schooling in january. Id really love to come up for some 300zx meets when i get mine. Even if there is one before i have it i would probly come up just to check it out and meet some ppl. What you think rizz? I figured you'd be the one who knows all about them; when, where, ect...
One just came up in KC. It was posted on our board this morning, it's a 91' w/85k on it looks perfect check at www.anglefire.com/oz/300zxttforsale it looks aweful sweet, but the price is $17,700.
There is another one just came up from www.arkansaszcarclub.com think it's down at Little Rock wants $11K, it'll be a good one.
I live in Oxford, Indiana..........if you know where Lafayette is, its about 30 miles.......northwest i would say, from Lafayette. If you dont know where Lafayette is, its about a hour and half drive northwest from indy. Colombus is about 2 - 2.5 hour from here. I would definatly be willing to go that far for a good Z. Im looking at 10grand or less......hoping to find a 93 or newer TT w/ less than 100k (HOPING).
Thanks for the link tnkrstoyco, keep sendin if you will.
Thanks to everyone for there help.

Hi whats up, welcome to the board. All i'm going to say is make sure you know what your getting into when you get a Twin Turbo, mainly financially wise. I wanted a Twin Turbo for a long time but my mom wouldn't let me get one so i had to settle for a N/A. And i am very satisfied with it even though I cant keep up with the turbos.Your looking at higher insurance for a turbo more maintenace, hence more parts, and higher cost for parts. I mean for me, 17year old, the parts for the N/A are almost at my limit price wise. I burnt out my clutch in 2 months and had to get it repalced and found out if i had a turbo I would have had to pay even more to get it repaired. I'm not trying to discourage you from getting a turbo all i am saying is do your research and make sure you know what your getting into. Because, and i'm telling you this from personal experinces, once you get a Z its very hard to keep it stock not do a little modifying here and there. And you will find out that engine parts for the N/A are considerably cheaper than its counterpart. But it may just be me, because i am more into looks and exterior body styleing than speed so I can have the same great looks of a Z at a lower price than the turbo.
