n/a vs. tt engine

I am looking for a tt engine to rebuild, and I keep getting offered n/a motors instead for a lot cheaper. I just need the long block, pretty much no accesories are needed. How much different is the n/a long block compared to the tt long block? Could I just take the tt parts and bolt them on the N/A block? I wasnt sure if nissan used the same long block for each 300, or if they were totally different.
thanks

Well, the NA block will have higher compression, which will cause an issue when boosting it. You could just take the time to go with upgraded TT internals (weisco pistons and eagle rods) if you wanted to go that far. The only other difference is the TT block has oil squitters for the bottoms of the pistons, so you may want to add something like that. (I assume Nissan did that with the TT block for a good reason). IMO, it's a lot easier to go with a VG30DETT short block.

I don't believe the oil squirters have anything to do with the actual block. I believe they're bolted on.

But I don't think the NA block has anywhere to bolt those too. I could be wrong, never seen that part of an NA engine. I guess you could drill out holes or weld them in or something..

I have to think that the N/A and TT blocks are the same. Don't know for sure though.
