long term storage

i'm thinking about taking my car off the road for the whole of two semesters next year. that will be from august to may. what are the chances i could prep it well enough to get it to start next year?

i'm willing to go through some trouble for it. but my hole goal here is to save money. i don't want to keep driving the car if i can't afford to fix a few essential things that have been listing up.

i'm thinking for one that i should run the gas out of it. next, i should put an extra bit of dialectric greese on all the connections, and i should put it on jack stands to save the springs and tires. i'll hopefully have it in a garage (not climate controlled) and under a thick cover to prevent damage from being bumped into on the way to the refridgerator. and i'll leave the windows cracked to prevent mold. how will the fuel injectors hold up? and the fuel pump? i'd even be willing to take the injectors out and clean them before all this. would that help?

i'm sure i'll get good responses on this. i know there are a lot of northerners on here! thanks in advance

.... it's not like you're burying it forever. I doubt you'll have to worry about the injectors or the fuel pump. If anything, get your parents or whoever is watching it to start it up every week for a little bit.

Here's a good response: Google something like "how to store a car".

Storing the car for one year isn't a big deal. Disconnect the battery and you're done.

i tried it for a few months before though and started it once in a while but every time i did it started on 4 or 5 cylinders. i guess that's no big deal though. oh well

i would also recommend some seafoam in the tank if your not gonna drain it and change teh oil RIGHT before storing it and don't start the motor with the new oil until its ready to be driven again. and trickle charge the battery, thats how us motorcycle guys winterize our bikes.
