I am searching for a Z32 TT Little help though please :)

So, I have decided I "need" a 300ZX. Preferrably a TT
Locally there is one for sale. It seems fairly clean. Not perfect for sure. But what do you fellas think....

Here is info on the one I'm thinking about... Copy/paste from his ad
1990 nissan 300zx twin turbo 5 speed manual
All stock. 98,000 miles. t tops
Been my daily driver for a while. Runs and shifts well. still pulls nice. Good tread on tires. All of the clear coat on the paint is gone but its metallic black. a/c works fine. newer injectors. Interior is pretty good minus the seats( has seat covers). few interior pieces missing. Smokes for a little bit after sitting at idle and taking off. The car has good potential and manual twin turbos are a little hard to come by. The reason im selling is i got a really nice n/a 300zx and looking to pass this one on.
$4500

Without pictures and from that description, what would you say it's worth?
Is it worth that asking price?

Thanks in advance guys.

You need to see it in persone and verify all his words.Carfax it.
$4500 for a TT under 100K 5 speed will make me doubtful!!Something fishy about it!!

Thanks for the reply.

I figured the paint condition is what is taking the value down drastically on this one. In the pictures, the clear coat is completely gone. Doesn't look too pretty. So I would have to completely respray the color and clear. Which is fine. I can do that.
Also says the seats are not great.
But yeah I plan on seeing it in person.

For future reference, can you put other Nissan seats in these..? Like 350Z or something..? Maybe have to do a seat pan and rail swap..?

Well, I've talked to the guy. He says it runs and drives fine. But does smoke. And he isn't sure why. He says it happens with moderate to hard acceleration in 1st.
Well don't alot of boosted cars just do that? Haha

But anyway. What could be the smoke(most likey cause)?

I do still plan on seeing it in person.

Guess #1: Blown rings? Somebody's been draggin' it. Hope I'm wrong! Check for oil leaks too. Compression check will tell.

Paint condition is fishy, too. What the heck... Nissan paint is way better than that. Check the Carfax. May be stolen...

Yes, the VIN - and $40, I think. It's on-line - and instant. You might just save yourself the trip to see it. Your call. Get the VIN right the first time, though. No oops let's re-do this.

Wow!! Haven't been on here in a long time!
So.....I looked at said 300ZX. It was a pile of CRUD!
The only good thing about it is it did run and drive great.
Body was horrid! I wouldn't have given him $1000. Well maybe if I had a good chassis that just needed the TT swap.
The advertised 98k miles was definietly a lie. The dash and cluster had all been replaced. The car looked like it had 250k very rough miles!

Anyway. I own one now!!!!

Only pictures I have of it as of now.
It's pretty clean. Not perfect by any means. But it came with some tasteful upgrades.
And this one does legitimately have 99,000 miles and NO rust!

I will be making a build thread when I start work on it this winter.
