Hi
Hi
Hi everyone.
New to the forum but not the Z world.
Purchased a 90 NA back in 96'. Still have it. 99k miles. SGP stage III.
Sadly it's been sitting in the garage for many years untouched and rarely driven.
Always dreamed of owning a TT. My son ( like most) loves Hot Wheels. He has taken a fancy to "ZSPEED" ( My 90 NA ).
His love for cars @ such an early age inspired me to pursue my TT. Recently turning 40 I told myself "why not? Just do it. It's only a car. The older you get and longer you wait the less of them there will be and the less likely to own one"
One afternoon ( like most of us ) I was just doing random searches on auto trader. There it was a 93 TT red. Mint 61k miles in Texas. I called the guy just asking some basic questions. I really had no intent to buy it but I started asking him all the questions of things I learned from being a tt.com later tt.net member many years ago. He answered everything perfectly. I ask him the service history. He answered perfectly. I ask who did the work. He told me Austin Z Clinic. I looked them up... A Mech. that primarily does Z's. I call the shop he had nothing but great things to say about the car. Now it was getting serious. I so wanted to hear something bad about the car so I could tell myself not to buy it. But everything was perfect. CarFax history was a dream. Multiple records all perfect. Few days go by. Multiple text messages and pictures. I finally did it. I purchased my mint Red TT. The original owner ( purchased it in his late 60's) rarely drove it. But ironically he had a dual pop charger intake w/ Seline dual MAF and Blitz power meter and SBDC-i III installed. Later he sold it to the current owner ( before me ) who had it for 8 years and put little miles on it. I asked why he was selling it " My wifes been on me to get rid of some of my toys in the garage out back and I'm retired and older now and I want to make more room for what I got".
Being a Z enthusiast in the 90's and early 2000's I was addicted to tt.net. Stillen, SGP & Avalon Racing ( NY? ) were the primary sources for parts and tuning. Every mod was "Stage' this or "Stage" that. Whatever happened to that? I thought that was a cool way to tell other Z enthusiasts what you had. Guess I'm old.
