Heater / Defrost Odor
I have a 90 300ZX NA and recently when I run the accessories like defrost or heat the air that is blown into the car has a horrible odor. The smell is similar to that of fuel oil being burned. But to the best of my knowledge my car isn't burning any oil (I have checked more than a few times). I'm not sure if this would have any bearing, but the car has 80K miles on it. Because of the odor I can't use the heat or defrost any longer (it works, but I don't want to be smelling that) so this is a very debilitating issue. If you have any ideas as to what may be causing this, and even better ... how to fix this from happening, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

** UPDATE **
I probably should have read some other posts before posting mine. I am new, I apologize.
I took the advice from stl300z and checked for fuel leaks. I was able to nearly get rid of the smell. I think the only smell remaining is residule. But it is about 95% better ... so that's a step in the right direction for me.
Thanks.
