Grinding on ignition

Hey guys this hasbeen happening for some time now but it's intermittent and doesnt appen very often. Sometimes i turn the key in the ignition theres a grinding sound and the egnine doesnt run over. I ould then release the clutch, press it again and then key the ignition and it starts up just fine like nothing was wrong. Again this problem only happens now and then and I was wonderif f anyone had a clue of what it was.Whenever it happens I just release the clutch and press it and try starting it up again and the engine starts. The sound actually sounds like metal on metal grinding.

Teeth don't just fall off a flywheel.

Your starter is dying. The solenoid is struggling to engage the starter gear.
