Hi-RPM Grinding

Hey, my Z is trashed and I'm tryin to find a new one. But quick question, I would race my Z regularly, and I would notice at high RPM shifts with my clutch pedal mashed it would slightly grind...well more of a squeak sound when slammin into a gear. I know it was that the pedal wasn't completley down but just at quick shifts into 3rd and 4th at high RPM's it would make a squeak noise. Just wondering if anyone had this happen to you..write back

Did it happen during regular driving, cause I had the same problem of a squeaky clutch pedal. Puleld out the WD-40 and gave her a good ol' spray and the next day she was all fine. Kinda funny cause it didn't work right away, the next day it stopped. But not that night. And the grinding in gears while you were shifting, was probably you getting excited and pushing the gears real hard, happens a lot when people shift into 2nd, cause they'll just slam it.

nah man...it only happened during like Hi-RPM's and I could tell that is was the shifter because the pedal never made a noise. Only at Hi-RPM shifts going into 3rd and 4th...mostly when I was racing

It could just be that at higher RPM, the engine moves a lot on these cars. It causes the geometry of the driveline to change. It could just be the shifter bushings making the squeak. You could try lubricating them. If it's grinding, then it's probably the synchros. Try changing your tranny fluid to Redline MT-90. It can help get rid of the grinding sound.
