did i get a good deal?
I just bought this Z http://www.angelfire.com/alt/my300zx/My300ZX.htm for a little more than it was listed at 7995. There are more pictures to the right if you hit the gray arrow on the right. The drivers and passenger's seats are in perfect condition, as well as the rest of the interior. There are 81xxx miles on the original everything. The speakers were pro-installed with a 500$ removal of the pre-amped BOSE speakers. The engine compartment needs alot of work, but that's what spring break is for right? The power steering is bad, works about 1/4 of the time and it is supposedly a bad PS pump. Could it be anything else? I saw the car and just had to have it. I was looking at mr2 turbos, 300zx NA, sealth R/T TT, and 3000GT VR-4s. This was the best deal i found in any of those cars. The motor is stock and sounds smoooth. The one thing that i do not know is if / when the timing belts were changed. Is there any way to find this out? I changed the one in my old 94 miata like 3 times, but i dont know anything about V6s. (yet). I just wanted to make sure it was a good buy, it felt as though it was though. The seats are in better condition than the ones on my dad's 2003 kia sadona.
thanks for the input,
MIKE

No idea if you got a good deal or not, but about your timing belt. If you are unsure when your belt was last done, if at all, I'd get it done. A falied belt K.O's the engine, I've seen pics. While the belt is getting done it would pay to replace the water pump as this is a common part to fail, and means removing the same stuff for access. Replace the water pump especially if you have to keep topping up the coolant as this is a sign of impending failure.
Even if you didn't get a good deal, you still own a Z!

Check your wheels!
That's a great looking Z! I think you did pretty well on the deal but...it looks like your front wheels are on the wrong sides. The factory wheels are directional and it looks like you have the left and right fronts on the wrong sides. You should take the tires off and switch them so that the tires remain on the same sides otherwise the tires could be damaged by reversing their rotation.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
