I used to, but that was nearly 4 years ago. It's up to 155k miles now; which is more than I would liek to have, but that's water under the bridge now.

cause the only decent machine shop near me wants $2k for new springs (broke 5 inner springs and two outers) a new set of stock cams (found a crack in the int. side 2,4,6) and a 3 angle valve job, thats with no machine work whatsoever. its propably going to cost me $3k+ just to get this car on the road, but seeing as TT's arent reliable enough for daily driving i was going to throw in a ls1, parts around here are plentifull, plus autochode has almost anything you could ever need of one.

that and i have no idea why im looking at buying an airplane right now either...

you need a license to fly that airplane... i could fly you. and yeah i already looked at 152's if i finish my S30 and sell it i could affor a 150 or 152. lol. but when it comes down to it, unless you know an A+P mechanic, your going to pay 1k a year for teh annual inspection. plus insurance!!!! its rediculous. and 150/152's get gas mileage like a civic but they are faster lol. my buddies dad has a plane a nice comanche he does his own annual and saves a ton there because he is good friends with a A+P mechanic. he's old so insurance aint bad, and he had his own business and sold a 40 foot boat to buy this plane for 40K now worth near 100K. planes inflate instead of depreciate. its nuts. if you want to have a way to fly for just fun though, get an ultra light. and as for the LS1 in a Z32..... come on!

i thought you could do that stuff on your own...

you can DD your TT as long as you maintain it, and once you have a TT engine in it

then its not a reliable motor if you have to constantly fix it, the most i should have to do for maintenance on a reliable motor is oil changes, tranny fluid changes and a general tune-up.

i never said anything about constantly fixing it. but it does help if you have an engine that doesnt need work done to it to make it run.

id just build up the engine anyways. forget DD

but thats one of the other thing about why i was leaning to the ls1 idea, its lighter, makes more power then a stock TT, requires almost no maintenance even when you pushing over 500WHP, that and if its pushing my GTO that fast imagin what it would do to a car that weighs in 700 pounds less then it, anybody kinda see what im saying?

I daily drive my TT

plus Race it at the track about every other month, change oil every 3k and aside from the alternator breaking a month ago, the engine has been just about perfect. (146k miles and counting) I run it at 16psi on a boost controller and sometimes I run it very hard, it just keeps going. I will confess that the track tends to eat up the brakes, looking into upgrading to a BBK to take care of that problem. I love my turbo, its quiet, gets good milage, and good power out of it.

I dream about driving a TT every night. So thats just like a DD,right?
It's got a zillion horsepower and it never runs out of gas, and I haven't ever had any problems because it has zero mileage

Yeah, that was Stans. 2+2 auto Twin Turbo with Sport 600s and nitrous. Driven year round (even in snow) and he just passed 300,000 miles a few months ago.
