Got a new daily driver...
I'm a traitor to Nissan!
Wanted something sporty I could drive in all weather, even Illinois winters. So heres what I came up with:
2011 Subaru Impreza WRX. Had to get the premium version with the sunroof.Thought about the STi, but you're paying $6K more for basically a big wing, bigger wheels, and .1 of a second faster 0-60. Didn't think it was worth it.
Hey, at least its not a Honda.....

Poor 280 left out of family portrait....
Actually she's still up in Bloomington getting work done. As I figured some problems have arose with the intercooler piping (hopefully been rectified).
She'll be in the next pic.

You gotta buy one!
Only bad thing is they come with high performance summer tires (the salesman told me otherwise, and the car was in Chicago so I didn't see it until after I bought it). Going to have to buy some winter tires (& cheap, ugly rims) for the winter. No biggie I guess....

LMAO!!! my friend bought the EXACT same car. In fact that car isn't exactly common yet with the widebody flares and such, so I do think that that exact WRX is the one he looked at first but the dealer was a dickhole so he bought the first one off a truck at another dealership. EXACT same car. And the STI also has upgraded brakes and suspension and I do believe the motor is a bit more stought.

Thanks WildmaN. Yeah this car is a a blast.....and also very comfortable, at least by sporty car standards. The 280 is up in Bloomington getting some work done....hopefully get her back within a week or so.
Snw, your friend is cool! The only thing that would make him cooler was if he had a Z (or two) also.Yeah the STi does have a stouter engine (305 hp to the WRX's 265) but also has extra weight so is barely faster. Sure i'd love to have the Sti with its ultra cool wing......but not for $6K more. Think of all the mods I can do to the Zs with that money saved.

No for sure mike, you're cool there, I however found the front seats in that car not so comfy. But than again i think the S2000's seats are the best things in the world! OMG i could melt in those *****. However my friend could have also had a 370Z or a genesis coupe, but wouldn't get the 2.0T for some reason even though i think it is the better choice, and the 370Z just slightly more than he wanted to spend plus it wasn't "practical"> now ok I buy the practicality of the matter, however he still has a 96 accord which has zero issues with not that many miles. It's about as practical as it gets, so for him getting the WRX as something practical yet it isn't his DD unless the accord blows up, however it's better in the snow even though he probably isn't going to really drive it in the snow, bla bla bla, it's all these awkward contradictions he has for standards, that makes me HATE him for the choice lol.

I see your point Snw. If I was buying a car just for a weekend toy, I would get the 370Z.....or a Challenger. Of course the main reason I got the WRX was I traded in my daily driver, the truck, and had to get something I could drive in all weather (ie AWD). It was either the Subie or an Evo....and the cheapest Evo is as much as an STi. Theres also the Reliart, but it costs about as much as the WRX with 30 less hp. The choice was easy for the all-weather fun car....
