Daily Driving...

So Im finally driving my Z daily now! Well my engine currently has 190k miles on it and that has me so worried that Ive been babying the car for the past week (shifting before 4k) Do I need to worry or will my engine survive daily driving and some faster sport driving on the weekends? Ive already replaced my clutch ,flywheel, starter motor, plugs and wires. Is there anything else I should do to insure the reliablity of my Z? Also my seatbelts dont lock when I pull on them or when I brake hard and that also has me worried, anyone else's belts like that?

Just because it has 190k doesn't mean it's going to blow up soon. I've seen my fair share of 280zx's w/ close to 300k miles & still driving fine. It depends on how well you take care of it (maintainance). Change the oil every 3k miles... check the oil level frequently... better said: keep all the fluids fresh.

Some seatbelts don't lock just because you pull on them. They are designed to lock in certain conditions.

The Seat Belts Do Wear Out, They Should Lock With A Good Hard Quick Pull. Similar To A Mva, If They Dont, Get Different Ones To Stop You From Biting The Windscreen. Check The Interior Thread, The Set Includes Black Seatbelts That Work.

Ive pulled on then with all my force and Ive locked the brakes at 30mph and my neck slammed into the steering wheel.

Like Nismo said...fluids, fluids, fluids. Keeps them up and keep them fresh. Also, these cars are VERY dependant on vacuum, so keep those lines up...

Ok glad to hear I wont have to worry about my engine when I take up to the redline anymore, so then I can drive fast every now and then as long as dont over rev the engine? Alot of the V6 mustangs in my school have been bothering me to race them (even though im not into street racing) just to see how their stangs do against a Z. But what about my seatbelts! I already get enough crap from my parents about the Z not being safe since it has no airbags (thats why my dad was making get a VW Golf!) but they dont even know about the seltbelts not working! What should I do? I really dont want to go through my windshield guys!!!

If you want sure... no but seroiusly, do I go to a shop or something? or is it unrepairable? Plus I have like no money since I have to pay a dam state tax since the car is under my name now and I have to buy my tag soon too.

go to a junk yard that has a zx, go there and take the seat belts, i think they might even do a exchange.

They dont even have to be out of a 280zx. As long as they mount in a similar fashion and the tensioners (or whatever they're called) work then it's all good.

If you have a self service yard near you then you should be able to pick up belts for pretty cheap.
