Buying a TT with upgraded injectors and fuel pump
Hi everyone! I am trying to buy a TT for my wife but it seems all of the TT cars have some sort of issue and are all owned by young people. I am in California and we found a ZX in Nevada with 119k miles. He says the car has 550cc fuel injectors but the fuel pump can't supply enough fuel at 6k rpms. The car also needs the pcv valves changed. I am planning to immediately take whatever Z I buy to a Z specialty shop to change the belts and whatever maintenance is needed.
So my question is if the fuel pump does need to be upgraded for 550cc injectors and this is the reason why it does pull strong to redline? Also will there be any issues smogging a fed spec car in California. Any issues transferring a car to California? Any other pointers I should knw about?

It has been a while since I looked this stuff up but it I remember correctly the NA fuel pump sucks and the OEM TT one is actually better than the walbro one that most specialty z shops sell. If your car is a factory NA that was swapped to a TT this could be your problem. If not your fuel pump is either going bad or you have some other problem altogether.
